lol what a joke. We haven't proven anything yet this year, but I've seen a couple of TSU games and they look like ****. Congrats on your OT win over an AWFUL Tulsa team. The sad thing is with that Sun Belt schedule, TSU will probably pull out 6 or 7 wins.

Tulsa had an extra week to prepare for us. We had Illinois on the ropes and let them get away with the win. WKU had the same luck as Texas State at Illinois.

We have a good young team. You should have a decent season with your schedule.

Ah, the all important Texas rankings. You have to respect a state that pretends everything beyond it's border is imaginary and irrelevant. Outside of Texas, these rankings don't hold a lot of meaning.

People outside the US say the same thing about national rankings. Legally, anything outside of Texas is "foreign," so, same diff.

Dave should edit the site himself, or hire qualified people. Baylor is clearly the best team in Texas. Texas A&M is second. SMU is the only team worse than Texas State. That is the end of the story.

Just having some fun. I understand the attraction for Texas schools; however, I don't understand why autocorrect continues to make contractions when unnecessary (its not it's).

You are wrong as usual. Texas State is better than many on that list.

You are trolling... as usual. If I wanted to argue with Texas State fans I'd post on the Belt board. Y'all can believe whatever you want. I don't care. No logical person in Texas agrees with your statement. Enjoy your new series with UTSA.

Texas State has looked a lot better than UNT, actually. Kind of ironic that UNT fans would sarcastically congratulate the OP on the Tulsa win when UNT's biggest win to date is over the unanimous worst team in FBS. I think Tech, UTSA, Houston and maybe Rice eventually pass Texas State up in the DCTF rankings but they should still finish Top 10.

Texas State would gladly play UNT to show you who's rated properly.

I don't see what the big deal is in beating a low level AAC team in Tulsa. They have a win against 1-4 Tulane. Maybe UNT is worthy of one more notch. Or, maybe not. All we have to show so far are wins against sMut and a terrible Nicholls State. Nothing to hang our hats on.

Umm, seems like UNT fans are the only ones saying they're better than Texas State.

In my opinion, UNT sucks this year and has played like crap compared to Texas State. But that's just me.

Maybe you noticed these rankings are in a magazine called TEXAS Football?

Again, I was just joking. I didn't notice, and honestly, I don't care. I didn't even read it. Perhaps, a TEXAS only sports forum might cut down the comments from the riffraff from those pesky other states? Think about it. It would make that top 20 ranking real meaningful, giving you a real reason to boast and argue.

RE: Dave Campbell's College Rankings-Texas
I'm not going to get worked up over this list. I think it's out there for shock value and getting people's attention. TSU has no business being at 5. We're 2-2 but if you're going to hammer us for two losses the why is Rice as high as they are? There's a lot of confusing selections on that list.

Our Texas loss was not bad. Texas was healthy at the time and if not for a bad call by the officials it should have been 14-0 at the half. We killed SMU in spite of our quarterback being horrendous. La Tech ... man ... we got kill but that would have been a close game if we had any decent quarterback play. Our offense had eight straight 3 and outs to begin the game? I think we had one first down in the first half. I would have thought a blind monkey could have gotten at least one first down.

Overall I think this team is better than last years with two exceptions. One, we're much younger so penalties and special teams return games haven't been as good. Second, our quarterback play has been shockingly bad! (Not shocking that they are bad but shocking at how bad they've been. I have not seen worse quarterbacking over three games in my life.) Now that we've got Dajon starting at quarterback I'm expecting the offense to be much better.
