Pretend and guess......what if Cooper plays 4 straight years at Memphis, never gets hurt outside a game or two here and there....where does he end up all time as a Tiger and where will he end up in the rushing stats? There will be a lot of good rb's at Memphis in the next 4 years....who know's how many carries he gets.

Most Yards Rushing
Rk Yds Player Years
1. 6,026 DeAngelo Williams 2002-05

4. 2,378 Gerard Arnold 1997-99

These statistics are somewhat skewed by the fact that in the old days, we only played 10 games a year. Did not play 12-game schedules until 2002. Look what Steele did in only two years. I remember seeing him run for the first time in a Spring game - it was clear that he was a good one. I suspect Cooper is headed for greatness.

Steele was very good and his last name is old school in Franklin. I went to high school with a bunch of Steele's.......good times.

No clue but that DeAngelo number is just sick. What a treat that guy was.

Xavier "X-man" Crawford would have been ranked high and probably enjoyed an NFL career had he not torn his knee up twice (once at the end of a Spring game). I remember Ole Miss wanting him very badly when he changed his mind late and signed with Memphis. We rode him to a win over USC among others. And yes, I am aware of his disappointing personal life.

RE: J. Cooper
I think it will be awhile before we see another DeAngelo type career for the Tigers ... I think Fuente and staff are embracing the RB by committee type of approach, and I think it is going to be successful; especially as we want to continue to run an Up Tempo style offense ... Depth is going to be the key from here on out, and looks like we are headed in the right direction ... I mean, we are talking about our 3rd string running back stepping in and producing ... To me, that's awesome as it shows how far the program has come in the last few years !! Recruit, recruit, recruit !! The name of the game !!!

Correct, and an important aid to recruiting is for visiting recruits to see large spirited crowds - not empty seats. To a large extent, we will probably have the quality of football program that we deserve - no better, no less.

Yep - with our style offense, several running backs will get touches. Each running back can bring something different to the table, and further helps keep the defense off balance. I like the approach.

I don't like to do what-if's, especially since injuries happen all the time. Doreland is an example. But, if I was to guess, and I am hoping that Cooper has a great career at Memphis, he ends up as the Top 5 of Tigers All Time RB's.

DeAngelo was a once in a lifetime player and he was counted on to carry the team, I dont think we will ever see another with numbers like DeAngelo's.

Jarvis definitely has the potential to be great, but I don't think he will get the touches to collect "all time" type numbers. He will get a good amount of touches this year. Then next year, it appears most touches will go to Dorceus and Kimbrow. You also throw in RD. Jarvis' touches may be limited

A DeAngelo only comes around once per program for someone like us but I know CJF will come up with a gem of a RB in the next year or two. Speed kills.

I have a lot of high hopes for Jarvis Cooper.

The "around the horn" wave or like waving the thunder sticks or like waving a hanky or maybe the limp wrist wave?

Coop weight may be an issue as he gets older. If he can keep it off he will be nice runner and blocker. If he gets to big well his speed and size at LB will demand attention .

That on paper looks like an impressive group of backs.
