The same. Like there are bigger issues to worry about with Bush than some salute. Though this is slightly less casual than Obama's. His hand is free. What is the background behind this photo? Obama was de-helicoptering.

Either way, if this gets you in an uproar, smh.

1: Libertarian/Conservative-ish
2: Lean towards do it right or not at all (Including 'conservative' pres.), by my views are evolving towards not returning the salute at all in favor of a respectful nod.

No, it's not a deflection. It's a question of what do you consider "standard" protocol among heads of state and their families.

Again, to me, no single head of state is any higher than any other and should not be treated as such.

I wouldn't want to see our President saluting a general who has been elected as the leader of their nation. Nor do I think they should bow to any other world leader. To me, they're both showing signs of you raising them above your own office.

3) No real opinion.

Take a look at the Bush picture and you will see his right arm is not free.
His right arm is being restricted by both the dog leash and the dog's right
front leg is over his arm. He seems to have done the best anyone could do.

Not that it's a big deal so far as life is concerned.

3) Bush should have handed the dog to an aide like Obama should have left the latte in Marine One. That said, Bush at least looks embarrassed by it, and there's a big difference between a dog and a coffee cup.

1. I see myself as a Conservative with some Center ideology.
2. The Latte Salute. Honestly he should've put the coffee in his other hand and saluted. Or gave a nod
3. Bush and the dog. The dog should've been on the ground.

We're actually trying to nit-pik about which president made a worse decision of how not to properly salute?

How about which President has a foreign policy or not? Or which President is worse/better for the economy?

I mean, WHAT was the point of making a point that has such little value to be making a point about?
