RE: OT: Mack Brown to SMU??
How did you get Mack Brown to SMU out of an article about how administrators are intrigued by Brown, and might pursue him after the season should he be interested?

RE: OT: Mack Brown to SMU??
Have ambiguous feelings about the thought of Mack Brown to SMU.
Pretty much feel like he should stay retired, and as an analyst.
Is a huge name that SMU could use, but he would need some great
assistants. Just didn't get it done the last few years at Texas. SMU
supporters can be over the top with the right motivation. Doubt he
would last long though.

I'm in favor of them hiring a big name. No need to go with some no-name coach at a no-name place like Georgia Southern.

If true, I'd love to see Mack and Dennis coaching against each other again

RE: OT: Mack Brown to SMU??
not that far fetched of an idea, Mack isn't a great game day coach, but he is good at building programs and SMU does have a lot of things going for it, they have money, and could pay him a great salary along with his staff. Question is, do he want to jump back into coaching so soon?

I do not believe Brown will take the SMU job if offered. If he's interested in getting back into coaching, it will be at a much higher level. I personally think the Tar Heels would love to have him return.

Heck one of our fans suggested he return to App State. I think they were joking though.

he couldnt right the ship at ut-austin with the largest budget of any football program and at a flagship school that people are lined up begging to go to. maybe he didnt have good assistants and was too far removed from the day to day coaching stuff or maybe he just stayed on past his time.
