MT vs Southern Miss
Southern Miss fans do you guys care to discuss the game or are you still content wallowing in self pity about your program and the conference you're in?

We will probably lose by at least 21 points. Do you need details?

Any Southern Mississippians making the trek to Murfreesboro / Nashville ?
We enjoyed our roadtrip to Hattiesburg / The Big Sleazy last year (no wives )
That absinthe about put me under, though

I honestly struggle justifying spending the money just to go to Hattiesburg to watch this team, so no way on road trips until the product is worth it.

That's why at our age we're probably better off taking the wives with us.
BTW, I'm not sure I can get to the Bahamas w/o taking my better half.
I'm in the sales phase right now.
No disrespect to the USM fans talking about that in thread. You'll be kicking our ass in due time.

Living in the DC area. I've been there. I know how you feel. Hopefully you live outside the Hattiesburg city limits!

Do you guys run the ball well or do you rely more on the pass? What is your strong suit on defense? How is your QB play? I have yet to see you guys play this year other than the tail end of your game against Appalachian State, so I don't really know what to expect.

RE: MT vs Southern Miss
We haven't gained over 100 yards rushing in any game this season.
We are yet to hold any of our opponents to under 190 yards rushing.
QB play is decent, but he turns it over too much and isn't very talented. Receivers are terrible. Offensive line is beyond horrible.
Defense can't stop anything, mainly because they're on the field for the entire game. Teams run it at will, because they can. They can throw it against us too, but usually don't have to.
We turn the ball over way too much and our running game is as vanilla as you'll come across.
We don't sustain drives, which leads to our defense wearing down.
Linebackers are slow and not talented.
Defensive line has some players, but not enough to make up for the lack of talent everywhere else.
Secondary is young at CB and the safeties have underperformed all season.

How much do you guys attribute this to Fedora. The other guys haven't been around long enough to screw up the recruiting. Is it that Fedora and staff didn't recruit?

RE: MT vs Southern Miss
I would not be surprised if this game is not decided until late 4th qtr. USM has been down for a couple of years but I still have great respect for what they have done for many years. They will be back and with vengeance. I just hope they wait till after Saturday...

Blame can be spread to multiple folks honestly.
Current staff has shown very little ability to coach any of them up either.
MTSU's gameplan should be to run the ball, run the ball, run the ball. That plan has worked for our opponents thus far.

That is our gameplan for every contest.
That said, if we cannot run the ball, we will lose.

You'll be able to run the ball. We gave up over 200 yards rushing to Alcorn State. At home.
