Depends on the optical train accompanying it.

What ticks me off is that they used the name I had for a different system in a comic book idea I have.

To be able to see a bird in flight. That's something. What kind of resolution would you need to see that?

There are at least two resolutions here. Your optics provide a limit to a level of resolution theta = 1.22 /lambda*D. Bigger lens means more potential for resolution. But for flying things, that means heavier, so you can sense the trade offs you have to make.

But your sensor has a resolution as well, that's where the 1.8B pixels comes in. Think of it this way, your optics could resolve something at 2", but if it blurs together with other objects onto a single pixel, that resolution would be reduced.

Also, there is temporal resolution, basically, how many frames/sec (if you want to see those birds' wings flap).

Wikipedia has a decent summary IMO.

Can you explain or go into better detail the significance of the Iphone cameras or cell phone cameras. Does the Argus just have a bunch of those???

The civil liberty crowd has basically come to the realization that Big Brother wasn't the real fear, it was Big Stranger. The proliferation of camera phones is IMO a bigger threat to personal privacy than anything the government could muster. Big Brother is centralized, lumbering, weighed down by the volume of data it collects and can be constrained by law.

You're SOL Torch as ARGUS is already a government agency within the DC Universe.

I'm too far out of touch. I need a job where I can read comic books.

Had my yearly review this morning, almost told my boss that very thing. Probably would have if I'd seen this message. :(
