What's the scouting report on Cincy?
What do they do good and what are they bad at? Where do we match up favorable with them.

I just fear that our O is gonna play with a "scared their gonna hit me while I'm going up for a pass reception" hangover, and their O is supposedly VERY productive. I look for a very close game. Hope my Tigers blow me away!

Speed report from a season tix holder

Spread offense...lots of shotgun. Our WRs and QB are really, really good. Lots of sub 2 minute scoring drives. Moore, McKay, Holton, and Washington are crazy as a position group. Kiel will play on Sundays...just not sure which year that will be.

Lots of delay hand off run game. But that is mostly as a change of pace and misdirection.

The online is really, banged up. We have a very good line but not a ton of depth...were down 3 of the 5 against OSU. 2 are due back this week I believe.

Defense...sigh. We struggle against the run. No sugar coating it. Not very stout on the front 7 and our new DC is not going to be here long running a 6 man front that gives up massive amounts of running yards.

Special teams is not great but seems to be improved over last year.

I hope not. Their pass O is very good, and our pass D is suspect overall. McCain just does his thing.

I think it will be close too. Like another 42-35 type game.

I think our offenses are similar in style. Spread offense and a lot of misdirection running plays. We lost out top RB for the season, but we have depth at that position.

Our D line is our strength and we hopefully get out best player back for this game. Good LB's too.

Our special teams are solid and our kicker is a stud. Very big leg.

Thanks, Rath. Nice post. Everything seems to indicate a close game. Should be fun.

If you paid more attention to other teams you wouldn't have to ask these questions.

Their offense is typical Tuberville: great passing, run game is an afterthought. They're giving up 45+ points per game on defense, but some of that has to do with their high total snaps per game.

Their defense is really, really, really bad. I think it comes down to how well our D line can pressure Gunner Kiel, and how well we run the ball and control the clock.

This is a gut check game. Time to see if we can go on the road and beat a "decent" team that we're supposed to beat. There are no more "moral victories" on the schedule this year.

It what sense are we supposed to beat Cincinatti? We're an underdog on the road.

I don't really disagree that this is a game we want to win if we want to continue being viewed as legitimate and that losing, even if we play well, won't be salved by knowing we were just playing a team that outclassed us, because we aren't this time. Sure, no moral victory in this one. A loss is just a loss this week. It's a measuring stick to see how far we've really come.

But this is still isn't one we're supposed to win.

There is a limit of one moral victory per season.

No moral victory. But we're supposed to beat SMU. We aren't supposed to win as a dog on the road.

Sure it is. Have you watched both teams play? Memphis is clearly the better team.

ESPN's "FPI" has it pretty well pegged. http://espn.go.com/college-football/stat...eamratings Memphis #46, Cincy #55. Should be a close one, but these are the sort of games we need to be winning this season.

I guess we're arguing semantics. But for me, need to win and supposed to win aren't really the same.

Perhaps taking into account home field advantage, Cincy may be the favorites in Vegas, but Memphis is clearly the better team judging from the games I've watched from both squads.

This will be a "measuring stick" game on how we compare with one of the upper level teams in AAC. The Middle game was a measuring stick and so will this one.

I see us winning this game, our defense will clamp down on the Bearcats and offense will do damage to their weak defense. The Bearcats will have a hard time tackling Mr. Cooper!!

lol I watched Cincy this year but this was for Cincy fans to share some info that we as opposing fans wouldn't know. Go back back to Volnation Cane, you got a big game against Florida coming.
