Thanks Chiefs fan. I hope we will continue to get better as the season goes along so we have a good starting point for next year. I also want the SB to know that they made the right choice.

Yes, however I'd be concerned if we weren't listed in the top 5 of most running categories. If we can't run the ball effectively enough to be listed there then our offense isn't working properly.

I'm more surprised at how our defense has held up so far, with the exception of the last 18 min or so of the NCST game and the first half of the GT game we've shutout our other opponents in 9/12 quarters.

I do want to point out Ga State's passing #'s. Lord help us all if they learn to play 4 quarters defensively.

Would like to see a separate set of stats against other G5 schools. Tossing out the FCS & P5 games.

And based on the NMS defensive stats against the run we will.

I think you are reading into it wrong. We are just wanting to let the Sunbelt know they didn't make a mistake in accepting us and that we are a good addition to the conference. That is all.

Yeah, that's not the way I read it either.

I read it like Georgia Southern wanting to validate that the Sun Belt picked a keeper.

I honestly think a lot of people are scared that GSU is going to embarrass them their first year in the league even if they don't want to admit it. I for one are glad we play them later in the year when there is plenty of FBS tape to study, with the way they are playing it is going to be tough.

Georgia State voted against us joining. They couldn't even get that right.

Get it right. Our previous AD was so misinformed about you, she made our president look like an idiot and was shamed into voting FOR you.

No need to point out how I read it. I read it the way I read it. That doesn't mean I'm not a happy camper. I was all for it from before it was a reality. From the time they started throwing additions around I had 2 schools that I was rooting for either/or or both and they are the 2 we got.

Just can't help how I interpreted the statement. You just have to go with how my brain works....and deal with it.

Some of you Georgia Southern fans might appreciate/be interested to know that A-State moved up to D-1 in 1975, and went 11-0 and led the nation in rushing. We ran the option.

QB David Hines 170-672 4.0 ypc
RB Leroy Harris 124-874 7.0 ypc
RB Dennis Bolden 186-1191 6.4 ypc

http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/year...shing.html

That team was loaded with talent - probably had 12 to 14 guys that went NFL/CFL off that team. Tied for 21st in final poll with Notre Dame I think.

Please understand though, we are grateful for the invite.

Let's just say the poster wanted to make sure the feeling was mutual.

I know I for one was a little confused in the beginning on this board. It seemed that nearly everyone else (outside of a few ULL fans) was very glad to have App State but weren't so sure about Georgia Southern.
I have to admit that I was a little put off by it at first. After all, our program was the one with twice the National Championship, and located in a better recruiting ground in a state with more people and less competition for fan base. Just didn't make sense that people would be sure of App State, but not so much us. I suppose the win at Michigan and the 3x in a row NC titles were so known that it overshadowed Georgia Southern. I wish App State much success here, but I'm very glad that we (SO FAR) have done well enough to be considered an asset and I'm glad that in year one, we are doing better than App State, Just to at least get equal on the "glad you are here" stuff.
