Last year I was able to listen to the games on 107.7's app via my phone. This past Saturday the station was streaming a loop of commercials but not the game broadcast. Does anyone know if this is permanent or did the radio station goof up again?

I had the exact same issue. So frustrating!

Just go to UABSports.com and get the audio feed from there. I was at the game but tried to listen to it on 107.7 IHeart Radio but got the commercials as well. It may have something to do with the game being televised and IHeart Radio doesn't have the rights to broadcast the feed or something like that.

Did you use the 107.7 website link or the actual 107.7 app?

I used an app that streams the radio feed.

I tried both the app and the live stream from the 107.7 web site. Same commercial loop.

I also tried the uabsports.com page. I could hear it there but on my phone the web page had to remain open. So when the screen would time out, it would stop playing until I opened the screen display again.

Actually, I think 107.7 FM goofed technically when they were allowing their game feed online. I suspect they only paid for the rights to broadcast the game, not the web-based, so them broadcasting it online would be an "unauthorized transmission". Someone must have finally called them out.

Thinking back, I listened thru the UAB web page too, but I did it on my computer.

They have been goofing technically for many years then.

Yes, I think you are right. I use to listen to Georgia football on a station in Rome over the net. Now they still have the game over the airways but elevator music on the net link.
