Seriously, this delay and deny of the XL Pipeline and other petroleum based nonsense, is going to get us all. Notice the rise in prices lately of food stuffs of all kinds. It's the cost of diesel that is making them ALL rise.

Call your congress men/women and tell him/her to get on with this needed project. Vote for those that WILL promote it, this November 4, 2014..

In the meantime, enjoy this little ditty. Listen all the way through. Over the years, one of my favorites.

Gas prices have dropped considerably. Have diesel prices not done the same?

I read this today, http://online.wsj.com/articles/dangers-a...1411353150

Rail is being used to ship crude instead of pipelines. Rail, which is more expensive, and consumes more energy is somehow "greener"?

Only for W. Buffett, the Dem supporter who invested heavily in CSX. Crony capitalism at work. But nary a word from mach, johnnyzero or ucf80

Oh, and it's interesting to look at Germany's failures in adopting a green energy policy

Once again, leftists retreat to 19th C technology.

Well, aren't you just a day behind, and clueless about the issues.

I love trains, but it is stupid to move our oil via the rails. Pipelines are safer and cheaper.

Once again, leftists retreat to 19th C technology.

Many are seduced by green energy and the prospects that it will allow residential demand to either be cheaper of free themselves from the grid altogether. And while that's not plausible on a marco scale, residential power use isn't the demand driver, its commercial and industrial users (you know, those pesky jobs producers that everyone worries about). Merkel might have been able to sell regular Germans on green energy, but Siemens, BMW and MB basically went up to her and said we're leaving if you continue down this road.

Its not so much that Greens are retreating to 19th Century tech, but that they are swayed by scientists who believe that harnessing solar energy should be easy as opposed to engineers that routinely point out the challenges of such a system.

It reminds me of a statement once made by a French Nuclear Engineer, 'Fusion sounds like a great idea, put the sun in a box. just one problem, how do you build this box?'
