Bluenanza - Oct 27, 2014???
Many folks are already focusing on football scrimmages and such.
But - when does basketball practice start for the Bucs??
Is the Bluenanza set for October 27??
http://calendar.etsu.edu/EventList.aspx?...=syndicate
We've got 5 frontcourt players who are either new (Williams, Bates, Overstreet) or coming off injury (Giplaye) or coming off a little used freshman year (Isaac Banks).
There's lots to learn about this year's team

Looks like it is set for the 27th. And we have a Home Coming Scrimmage for the 1st. Sounds like a fun Home Coming week!

So is there going to be "Bluenanza" on Oct. 27, a Blue/Gold Scrimmage on Oct. 30 (that's what the schedule says) AND a scrimmage 2 days later on Nov. 1?
All running up to the exhibition game Nov. 3 with Milligan.

Goal #1: Make it to the NCAA tournament. I like it, Wilson!
I hope goal #2, equally important, is to get seeded well enough and prepare even better to win that game. This would seem less probable without the frontcourt's help out of conference and down the road - please stay focused on the defense and rebounding, coaches!

Heard Petey has been a little banged up, and that may have led to a door for Desonta to shine. I love when freshmen come in and make an impact, even when it's mostly with energy like AJ did last year.

In the recruiting thread, I suggested that the departure of Maurice O'Field may have been a good thing for us, in fact. Mainly by clearing room on a deep guard roster for Desonta Bradford. His ball handling and shooting, from available videos, looked much sharper than O'Fields. Furthermore, while Desonta may not be as muscular, the athleticism seems on par. I hope the coaches use him well seeing that we're losing two starting guards next year. All the while giving appropriate attention to the frontcourt, needed now.

Bluenanza isn't in the form it once was. It is now a student focused event.

This is why I'm still so sick over losing "Moe": We could've had two major-level talents players for us in Moe & Desonta. I have no doubt Moe would'dve started at SF or PF (given Bartow's comments about Lester playing PF). Right now, before he's ever played one juco game, Moe has garnered offers from the Big 10(Maryland), ACC (Va.Tech.), and Pac-12 (Arizona State).

I'm still as disappointed as you are at the level of the individual player, Moe, but at the team level I think the opportunity and space are opening up for a more complete student athlete that will better represent ETSU basketball, Desonta. I'm excited to see him in action tomorrow night!
I saw plenty of Moe in pickup games last year, some that I got to run with him. I hope Moe puts in more time in class and the library and less at the gym in juco, for his own sake and the program that does land him. Basketball is obviously more important to the young man, but ETSU basketball was hardly important to him to not make the grades or commitment to stay. Better to lose him now with the time to recruit and develop players like Desonta, or Karl Overstreet, than to watch Moe transfer out a year or two down the road when he got tired of being an out of position PF in a lesser mid-major conference.
Just my opinions. You can probably tell that I am a bit more disappointed than I purport myself to be.
