Vote: Best college basketball teams not to win a title (SI.com)...
Not the best poll to be a part of, but...

Both the 1983 Houston Cougars and the 2005 Illinois Fighting Illini lost in the national championship game. Both now have a chance at redemption of sorts, having reached the finals of our Best Team Not To Win A Title tournament.

In one semifinal, the star studded Cougars of Phi Slamma Jamma, fronted by Hakeem (then Akeem) Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler, matched up with Patrick Ewing-led 1985 Georgetown and destroyed the Hoyas, 68 percent to 32 percent. It doesn’t make up for the actual 1984 title game in which Georgetown defeated Houston, but hopefully Guy Lewis is somewhere chewing on a towel with joy...

UNLV's 91 team would've killed all of these teams.

UH's phi slamma gamma team was considered the greatest team in college basketball history (At the time) before losing is a last second alley oop to nc state in the national championship...which espn considered the greatest moment in college basketball (in their ncaa 75 special 2 years ago) as most considered houston unbeatable ... 2 of the nba's top 50 players were on that team a 3rd that has hall of fame consideration and almost everyone on the roster went on to atleast start 1 nba game including the deep bench...

ps we can debate about this but still help us vote...it takes a second and illinios is currently killing us

If they didn't, wink, wink, kill themselves.

Besides coach Guy Lewis, who else has Hall of Fame consideration off PSJ?
