Take NIU! The dawgs should be able to beat up on Kent a little bit. I see the game being semi-competitive early with NIU really hitting their stride going into half and not letting up after.

I put a buck on NIU, although there is some risk with that bye week, you never know how a team is going to come out after that.

I agree a bye week can throw a team off a bit at the beginning due to a little rust, but once that wears off and they get back in rhythm they should be able to handle Kent without issue.

I'm seeing 23.5 for most sites right now. It's a bit high but I'm debating putting $ down. Don't like to bet on my favorite team because it can end poorly but I've won with NIU the few times I've bet on them.

Even with kent playing poorly this seems like a bad bet. I mean I know NIU should win with ease but always hesitant.

Is Durham still out? I haven't checked a box score in awhile.

Debating parlaying this game with OU over TCU, they're 4 point favorites.

I don't bet on things with spreads this high. What if we get up early on them, and then put our backups in, and they give up two TD to put us only 21 points ahead of Kent... Or what if we play down to their level (as seen against Idaho last year)... Turnovers - we've been good so far, but every team usually has one bad game. 23.5 is way too high for me to feel comfortable betting.

I think the Huskies have spent the bye week chomping at the bit, anxious to start another winning streak. They will be ready.

Or here's another scenario:

With one minute left in the game, the Huskies find themselves leading by 21, with the ball deep in Kent territory. They are a chipshot away from covering the spread, so will they do it? Of course not. They will run victory formation and gladly take a 21 point win. Your goals and the team's goals may not be the same.

I hate seeing teams that we play on polls like this. If we don't beat Kent State by 40 WE look bad.

I'm interested to see the Toledo game. Gonna be a test on how far Peej has brought WMU.

NIU is 3-2 against the spread after their bye week the past 5 years. Interestingly, we have played Toledo after the bye week in 4 of those years and Ball State in the other. Looks like NIU had previously been planning bye week's around important games.

I would imagine those were because of weeknight games more than NIU planning.

@ WMU it should be close, if the game was in Toledo , I would take Toledo big.
