Week 6: Sunbelt Prediction Thread
After seeing the first few weeks of play, I am happy that Georgia Southern is playing ULM at the end of the season, as it very well may be the "conference title" game. With all the Sunbelt teams now in conference play, I am excited to see how this week plays out. Here are my week 6 predictions for Saturday October 4th:

South Alabama @ App State 21-20: With App at home, I believe they can pull off the win. It will be a low scoring game, with a lot of errors on both sides. In the end, App at the Rock will squeak by with a win in front of almost 30k fans.

ULM @ Arkansas State 31-17: With Arkansas State not playing a single conference game yet, its hard to tell how they will fare in the conference. They put up some points on the P5 schools, and beat Utah State. ULM scared everyone with a close win against win-less Troy last week. I see Arkansas State beating ULM at home.

Georgia State @ Louisiana 42-24: Louisiana will get a long awaited win at home against Georgia State. I feel like this week will be the start of a win streak for Louisiana, and a continued losing streak for Georgia State.

Idaho @ Texas State 39-21: Texas State beat Tulsa in 3OT last week, and has been playing quite impressively so far this season. Idaho should not be a problem, and playing at home will help with a more definitive win.

Georgia Southern @ New Mexico State 48-13: Georgia Southern will come to New Mexico ready and pumped up. New Mexico State comes off of a major blowout from LSU last week, and Georgia Southern off a rivalry win at home over App State. After some adjusting and settling, I believe that the Eagles will put up some big points on NMSU this week.

With Troy on a bye week, they are guaranteed not to lose :)

agreed. I feel Cajuns has the overall better talent and the advantage of playing in the Swamp, but who knows what possible demoralizing effects the team will still have, especially when you consider they've been outscored 138-44 in three straight weeks

USA beats App - USA gets back in stride

stAte beats ULM - game of the week. Should be a good game. I'm picking the home team.

UL beats GSU - UL finally wins but GSU scares them

TXST beats Idaho - Bobcats roll

GS beats NMSU - GS runs all over NMSU

RE: Week 6: Sunbelt Prediction Thread
I'm torn on who I will be rooting for this weekend between Georgia State & the Cajuns.

If the Cajuns win, maybe they are getting their groove and we'd have to face them the next week while clicking on all cylinders.

But... If the Cajuns lose, maybe they come in p!ssed off and looking for payback (even though we haven't beaten them yet).

This will be a tough decision for me.

If they lose to GSU, I know you're correct that they'll be pissed but also pointing fingers at each other. I believe they will be in disarray thus not as effective; a winnable game for TXST.

A Loss to Georgia State might send them over the edge. It'd be hard to say how they'd look 9 days later for a Tuesday Night game.

The Cajuns do have better talent, but for some reason they have not been able to put it all together this year. If Broadway gets his act together, that could all change. I just don't see it happening. I think those last three losses took a lot out of them. It'll take a heck of a coaching job to turn things around. UL-L is paying big bucks for the guy, so maybe Hudspeth will get it done. We will see.

USA @ App St, 34 - 28, it is Jerry Moore Day.....if he shakes Satterfield's hand prior to kickoff we got this one. I believe fully in karma and it finally will be in the Mountaineers favor by honoring a man (the right way) who put App on the map.

AState @ ULM, 24 - 17

Georgia State @ UL, 31 - 21

Texas St @ Idaho, maybe the Bobcats get and keep a lead for a change in this one. 35 - 14

Georgia Southern @ NMSU, 52 - 20. 367 plus yards per game rushing vs. 379 plus ypg allowed....any questions?

It is a King of the Road kind of week, except for my guys.

USA @ App St 30 - 17

AState @ ULM - 34-24

Georgia State @ UL - 27-20 I just don't think we are healthy enough to win this one. I think UL jumps out to a lead, and we stick around long enough to make them sweat a little at the end.

Texas St @ Idaho - 37-27

Georgia Southern @ NMSU - 41-23

Well, no doubt the Aggies have a young defense ( majority of starters are Freshmen ).

But there are always nuances.

NMSU's rushing defense was against the 4th, 20th, and 30th best rushing teams in the nation. I'm gonna guess that every team in the Sun Belt would have inflated yards allowed after facing such teams.

That being said, GS would be 1st if not reclassifying and Ellison provides a unique challenge - running QBs who can throw don't allow defenses to cheat anywhere and they make spread rushing attacks all the more potent.

Uhh. Idaho plays at Texas State and ULM plays at AState. But nice effort nonetheless.

Early forecast calls for a cold 6 pm kickoff in Boone. Ask GaSo about how well teams do on cold October games in Boone.

I was there for the game 2 years ago when it was snowing. I don't know what was more miserable, the loss, or the aluminum bleachers and 20 mph wind. I'd be fine with playing y'all in September from this point forward.

An October/November game in Boone is the only football game in which I drink Jack Daniels. It sucks, but after a few drinks I usually end up in a short sleeve shirt. haha
