Kansas coach Charlie Weis has been fired and their DC has been named interim head coach. Is Brady Hoke at Michigan next??

NFL Network was talking today about how Michigan is already making overtures toward a Harbaugh.. and it's not the one in SF.

I didn't know Weis was even at Kansas these days. I thought he was long gone. Guess that shows how irrelevant Kansas is.

They'd probably need to be willing to pay nearly double what they're paying Hoke($4.3M) as Harbaugh is getting $7M from the Ravens and I don't know that he'd leave for a college job under any circumstance, but if he's going to leave I'd imagine it's going to take a significant raise.

Having said all that, I'm not sure why they'd covet John over Jim, considering Jim is a Michigan man and has recent experience(and success) as a college coach at a program that isn't too dissimilar from Michigan, both schools with a strong tradition and a focus on academics, but Stanford is a better school with less tradition, I think he could absolutely win big at Michigan. Its also no secret that Jim's relationship with the 49ers is a bit strained.

Personally I don't see either one of them leaving the NFL or Michigan offering the likely $7.5M minimum(would be highest in CFB) it would likely to take to make either one of them even begin to consider making the move.

He nailed the interview. They asked him about his "defensive philosophy", but he heard "deep-fried falafel" and the resultant outpouring of enthusiasm sealed the deal.

Or, maybe they wanted someone who could carry on what Mark Mangino started (winning the Big XII by emitting strategically timed releases of hydrogen sulfide).

Not according to the meaning of both words. Figuratively maybe but not literally.

From a sophist viewpoint, yes, June Jones resigned. From an effective viewpoint, it was pretty obvious by context that he didn't just decide to pursue other opportunities in the middle of the season, irrespective of it coming after another humiliating loss.

How many fatsos are out on the market for Kansas?

He was forced to resign, demonstrated by the fact he told none of his assistants before the announcement.

I certainly hope Hoke is next. After leaving a possibly concussed player in the game, I want him gone. Before this weekend, didn't really care.

I imagine Larry Blakeney at Troy will be gone after this year...they'll probably force him to resign.

If I had to guess who's next, I'd say Hoke, then Muschamp.

Listening to 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit right now and callers were already done with Hoke. Now they a really, really done with him now. Hoke is killing Michigan Football.

I don't know why Charlie Weiss kept getting HC jobs since he showed he couldn't coach

Weiss may have outdone Watson Brown.

As a head coach he's been paid about $65 million to go 9 games under .500.

Chryst is feeling some heat in Pittsburgh.

I would love to make $7 million for sucking at my job. Weiss may be a horrible coach, but he sure isn't dumb.

I saw a footnote in the newspaper yesterday that said Watson Brown lost his 200th game as a head coach this past Saturday. Wow! And yet, he's still got a head coaching job at Tennessee Tech.
