One of the all-time great Bronco wins - Toledo came into this game having dominated Penn State (back when beating Penn State actually meant quite a bit). Of course, we had a great squad that year as well. This was a classic that lived up to the hype in front of a loud Waldo crowd (not a sellout, but I remember most of the students staying until the end). Can't remember the final score, but I think we won by about a touchdown. Toledo finished 10-1, but out of the MACC - and amazingly, also out of a bowl game. That was a great Toledo team - and one of my all-time favorite Bronco victories.

I think I may have been at that game. :)

I think Toledo's always been a b!tch for us. Especially at the Glass Bowl. I expect us to put up a good fight on Saturday, but I see Toledo beating the spread against us (6 pts).

We give up 3rd-and-not-short way too often this year. Toledo has a Great Running game, and they can pass. Thankfully, their D will give it up like a drunk Sophmore on S. Park St, but they were able to contain Rawls & Davis pretty well. How much of that was CMU being overrated after their solid Purdue smackdown, and how much was that of Toledo shoring things up on D? Too soon to tell.

But I will say that if we don't have the mistakes we did against VaTech, who was Asking for a close game from us -- we'll get into the 30s. But I think Toledo will get well into the 40s -- unless we shore up the 3rd-down-giveaways.

RE: Rivals
I think there is more of a rivalry on the basketball court right now. Because everyone in Toledo knows that to win the MAC West the road goes through Kzoo. And after the whoopins you guys gave us last year in the MAC title game there's just a little bit more hatred. LOL.

On the football field not yet..... It seems like everyone in the MAC has a rivalry with Toledo on the football field. Even the 20 fans at EMU think we are their rival. LOL

RE: Rivals
Toledo is centrally located and usually good so thats a fair point. Our rival is CMU period. I find it repulsive to lose to EMU and I really don't like NIU but thats more a personal annoyance with a cousin who goes there and is pretty condescending and arrogant about their program.
