I used to like checking in as well. It's too bad certain posters drove the Big East fans away from here.

I'm here. Love this board so much more than the other one.

Think this year will be interesting. We have to have on the floor a better year than last year, or the Big East is going to have to start making some hard decisions. Especially if the AAC and A10 have good years. If 3-4 years in, it's still a debate about which league is doing better- that's not good at all.

I know I was looking yesterday at the ESPN 100. It seems like so far this year recruiting has slipped some. Right now of the ESPN 100, Big East has 5 top 100 recruits. Same as the AAC. A10 has 1 i think(a VCU guy- go figure there!) Right now the ACC, B10, P12, and SEC have really dominated this year- all 4 have 12/13 guys so far.

Did it have by class rankings? I think espn insider did, i dont subscribe. I think 4 BE schools were in top 25

right now on ESPN they only have top 10. think other ratings may have deeper.

It's funny- I think this statement is just HUGE now. The fact the Big East truly has established them being better than the AAC and A10 this year is something that can't be played down just how important it is. Last year there was truly a debate. This year there is no debate at all. Almost all the questions about the Big East have been answered positively except for the FS1 piece quite frankly.

I have watched more FS1 than ESPN the last 2 seasons. I like the highlight show on FS1 better. I think getting on big FOX a few weekends helps the BE. FS1 needs more content than MLB, NASCAR and UFC, and splitting the BIG with ESPN would help with CFB and CBB.

The thing with the Big Ten though- for what FS1 needs, I don't think if Fox and ESPN split- would be enough. I mean ESPN airs like 4 bball games a week from the Big Ten. So either the Big Ten gives 2 ESPN/2 FS1 or takes some away from the Big Ten network. I don't see FS1 improving all that much over 2-3 basketball games. Maybe football improves it a bit more- but even there- just 1-2 football games a week wouldn't change everything. I don't think folks realize just how much volume the Big Ten has put on their own network.

I think where FS1 really got hurt was not being able to bid for the NBA.

RE: hello
What amazed me was football- Big Ten had 55 games on ABC/ESPN this year. Big ten Network 40. They're going down to about 90 games with 9 conference games... So if ESPN/Fox split 50/50- that would be 25 football games- or 2 per week on each network. You know Big Ten would force some of their games on the Big Fox. So maybe down to 1 game a week on FS1. Will that help enough?

Leaving nonconference out for now, conference season should be the last 10 weeks, with each team getting a bye at some point, so 3 weeks at 7 games and 6 weeks at 6 games. BTN gets 2 each week, leaving 4 or 5 between ESPN (ABC) and Fox. If FS1 can get 1 BIG, 1 BIG XII and 1 PAC game each Saturday for a triple-header, with a decent rotation of teams, I think that helps enough to where plenty of college FB fans get eyeballs on FS1 over the course of a season.

RE: hello
Your numbers seem reasonable. A few small things- 1 they aren't going to only have OOC games 1st 3 weeks of the year- will have some for sure in week 4 and even a few after that. 2- Some weekends would be tough to have 3 games on FS1 due to things like MLB or UFC.

RE: hello
I cant wait to see what the tv ratings were for the BET. Fox does a good job(only thing I wish was their score thing was a bit smaller, with timeouts the entire game instead of just 2nd half).

Ratings were awful- off 40% from last years title game. In some ways, it's much worse than it was last year because the product this year was so much better than last year.
