They pounded us good in Huntington last year but I suspect it would be a much different game this season. We went up there and played uninspired ball and Marshall game out ready to play and spanked us up and down the field…I suspect ECU would give Marshall a much better game this season.

Marshall is better this season too. The SOS wins by ECU are impressive, but we have dominated our opponents (so far) by 103-6 in the first quarter against our first string. We led both Akron and Ohio 41 to 3 before rotating in our second and third string, beating both by 31 points. Akron just beat Pitt convincingly, and I suspect Ohio will perform relatively well this year. Let's not denigrate this thread to another Marshall v ECU contest, but let's not pretend it's impossible to tell that Marshall has a good program and would equal a gauranteed ECU win.

Wow…Did you even read my post? I never said anything about Marshall's SOS nor did I ever say ECU would beat Marshall this year. Some of you Marshall guys just need to relax…It will all work itself out in the end, so don't worry or feel the need to defend Marshall's schedule and performance at every turn. I love your little attempt at trying to prove Marshall's strength based on 1st quarter results, that is very impressive stat, worthless, but impressive...04-bow

I can not tell you what to do but my advice would be to just relax and enjoy the season…Seasons like what ECU and Marshall could have do not come around every year, so do not waste your time worrying about things, just enjoy the games...04-cheers

Not worked up at all. My advice would be let the season play out and toot your horn on the AAC board. One of your conference members did say you can't tell anything about us, and you currently have a thread proclaiming a three loss ECU gets in over Marshall for the Access spot on your board. Your motives are as apparent as your desperate need for attention. Again, this thread is about conference results, so yes, I can read. Conference USA has outperformed the other G5's.

Since you seem driven to a Marshall comparison, that worthless little stat does mean something, and I think you know it. If not, someone truly evaluating from a stance of non-bias will. I am not worried. Right now, we are in the strongest G5 conference with an undefeated record. I am enjoying it immensely. 04-cheers

Dude, you need to work on your reading comprehension…Please point out to me where I ever tried to compare ECU and Marshall? Where did I ever "toot my horn" about ECU outside of saying that I think ECU would give Marshall a better game if we played this season. Don't jump me about what other ECU fans may be saying on some other board, if you have an issue with what someone else said take it up with them.

Also way to repeat the exact advice I gave you about letting the season play out…I have not made any predictions or claims about how the season will go for ECU or Marshall for that matter.

As far as your first half stat goes…Sure it is impressive but my point remains the same, it is meaningless unless two teams have played the exact same schedule, so outside of that event, it means nothing. You are the one trying to justify Marshall's worth to some one who never said anything about Marshall's worthiness or ability. I said you guys have a damn good team…I suggest you pump the brakes a little and go back and read my original post, your response, and then my response and I think you will see that you are wrong with some of your comments.

Also I can post whatever I want on any board…If it is something out of line then your mods have a right to ban me. 04-cheers

Again, relevance to the point of the thread? It's not about Marshall or ECU--dude. CUSA is the best performing G5. You discussed Marshall v ECU for the thirteenth time. We get it. You think you would win. I don't. Move on. Anything to add that doesn't involve stroking your fragile ego that might be relevant to CUSA being the best performing G5?

The disturbing thing is just how much separation there is between the worst P5 conference and the best G5 conference.

There isn't a single P5 conference that has less than a 72% win percentage and there isn't a single G5 conference with a win percentage greater than 48%. The Delany's and Slive got what they wanted. The separation between the haves and have nots may be as wide as it's ever been.

In 2014 P5 teams will play 73% of their OOC games vs non-P5 teams and will play 73% of their OOC games at home. When you schedule 73% of your games at home and 73% of your games are against teams that have a fraction of the resources you have you should win at least 73% of your games.

Conversely you've got 48% of the OOC games played by the G5 vs teams with exponentially greater resources, and most of those games are on the road. A win % around 50% shouldn't be surprising either.
