UTSA losing to FAU came as a bit of a shock.

LA Tech's loss last week to Northwestern LA shows they can drop a game in conference play.

UNT already lost a game in the West.

Rice lost to ODU.

UTEP has played well, but has yet to pull an upset.

USM is down to Rice right now.

No team in C-USA West is playing like a clear cut favorite. Right now, it appears C-USA East is stronger, and the west seems to be up for grabs. Anyone see this differently?

I think it is too early to make such an observation.

I surely don't think it is settled, and it's hard to pick someone who is going to take this thing and run with it. If I was a betting man, I'd have to lean towards North Texas, but I'm just not sure.

You could say the same thing about the East, honestly. Sure, my Herd look solid, but MTSU, WKU, FAU and FIU all won important contests this week. This thing ain't over, by a long shot.

We took care of OOC business...at least with our G5 mates...but conference play is proving, again, to be the more difficult challenge.

Thanks BB. Nelsom is being modest. Until someone proves otherwise, marshall is the clear east favorite. The west is wide open now. Power rankings gonna be shook up big time.

Much depends on seeing more of NT with Williams at QB. If he's as advertised (and has played so far) they will be improved on offense from what LT saw.

I don't think anyone outside of LA Tech fans will be pulling for the Dawgs to win the western division or the conference. The conference just can't afford to have a team that lost to an FCS program end the season as champions. I hope LA Tech comes back to have a fine season, especially since they beat the crap out of my North Texas team. But, we need a different team to win the west and the conference championship. If LA Tech were to finish the season at the conference championship game, other conferences would take shots at C-USA. That's just my opinion.

I think you're all underestimating USM. All we have to do is start blocking, tackling, running, throwing, catching and kicking better and we'll run over the rest of you chumps.

The west is no longer up for grabs. Rice has turned it around and will win out...

No completely. But then I doubt anyone is completely healthy by now. Lots of missed games on defense. But if Driphus Jackson can stay on the field we'll have a decent chance in each remaining game.

Yeah, that "FCS program" beat LA Tech thru a series of comical errors and kicked a game winning FG on the last play of the game. The only thing we know for SURE is that the "FCS program" was a hell of a lot better than UNT.

Say what you want, but we didn't $hit the bed against an FCS program. Don't schedule body bag games against FCS schools, if your team is going to end up in the body bag. Good luck with the rest of your season.
