They have the room all set up for us. once the game gets going we will have sound.

Seems the restaurant doesn't subscribe to that channel, and didn't figure that out until game time. Good turnout, but fool me once...

A bunch of us relocated to Kay's at halftime. Worked out great - we got to see Rice really take over and win!

Hey all, first I want to personally apologize to everyone who showed up to Jake's. It was a great turnout. At my old job, we used to have a saying "Trust, but verify". Unfortunately, I did not do the verify part and that is my fault, so for that I am truly very sorry. The management at Jake's is also very sorry and we have gone ahead and looked at the remaining Away Rice games for this season and what we found is that they will not be able to show ASN, so the FIU game on Nov 1 is out for sure. The remaining games are CBS Sports Network and Fox, so they will be able to show those. I will still have a watch party at Jake's for those games since it is conveniently located for me, but I understand those who may want to stay away due to last week.

Unfortunately based on Jake's management discussions with their providers this past week, it looks like the endeavor was doomed from the start and they would not have been able to show the game on FCS, even if we had known beforehand. If I had known, obviously I would have just cancelled the watch party but that would have left Houston with no official watch party at all :(

I am encouraging those who want to have Kay's as a watch party location to continue because I think Houston should have multiple watch parties so folks have choices on where to go. I will be at the stadium today, of course.
