Had a late dinner at Cafe society. mmmmmm. Last time I was at the Shell was with a dance group (3rd grade) trying out the the Mid-south talent fair. Lordy I am old..just happy to be here. GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The shell is one of the not-so-hidden gems of this city. Great events there and always a fun, friendly environment.

Glad local businesses and citizens are continuing to support and sponsor it.

Lordy, I do love me some Cafe Society.

The crowds at the Shell have become monster. Apparently, it is the in-thing to do for the Midtown young professional mom-and-dad crowd. Lots of dogs, kids, and coolers. We had to walk from Galloway.

But I am very happy to see this wonderful place rise up again after almost being torn down a few years ago. Kudos to the small band of Midtown hippies who kept the dream, and the buildings, alive.

Midtown is really giving Downtown a run for its money, if that is even possible.

Discovered these shows during the summer and fell in love. Didn't go to the Dawls show, but did go see St. Paul and the Broken Bones last night and those guys put on one hell of a show!

Walk from Galloway? THAT IS A LONG WALK.

We take Uber to the shell. Get dropped off and picked up - no parking issues. You can also park at CY before and take "the roo" (the new bus that goes back and forth from CY to Overton) and then walk over.

Cullen Kent is the chef and he is superb. Had a Brandy Alexander made of ice cream that is sooooo good.

That is one band, the Broken Bones, that Lafayette's announced they will be having. I am just thrilled to think we will have a venue in Overton Square where there will be TWO sets of music EVERY night.

Yep, it was REAL crowded that night with Lucero there. But then, I am used to walking long distances when I work downtown.

I can't wait to use the Roo. But on the weekends, it is quite hard to find a parking place in Cooper-Young, too.

My daughter lived in Cooper Young area when she was attending Memphis. It was fun to visit her and just walk to restaurants and bars. That was 8-10 years ago. Good to know there is transportation between those two areas.

I would love for the Roo to add a loop once every hour or two up Peabody, left on Willet, back down to Cooper.
