RE: dudeonsports MAC basketball preview
In case if your wondering, I am the REAL moderator of the website. I initially left Northern Illinois off my preview initially because I don't see doing anything great or horrible in the conference. You guys may not like my preview, which is fine because banter is one of my favorite aspects of covering sports.
I previewed every college basketball conference in August and early September in two weeks so I'm sure I missed some key parts of the MAC and many other mid-major conferences. My specialty is doing bracketology and if you search the Bracket Matrix, my website is on there and actually had a good showing last year beating the likes of Yahoo Sports and falling one point short of tying Joe Lunardi.
I enjoy watching the MAC, in particular the Illinois and Michigan schools as I am currently a college student at UW Oshkosh hoping to work in the sports media industry. I will try to use the notes you guys gave me and use it to improve both my writing and my college basketball podcast, which surprisingly draws some pretty solid college basketball guests.
I'd like to finish by saying thanks for checking out the website, the more people that see it and give me feedback, the more I will learn and hopefully improve.

Don't take what we say too seriously. We're all a bunch of NIU homers, so of course as it goes with anything - if you don't mention a fan base's team, then you're probably going to get bitched at... That's just sort of what comes with writing these types of articles. That said, I think that if you're going to do an article about the Mac and breakdown who's a contender, then I think it's only fair you explain why other teams aren't.

One thing that I would like to say - your Desktop version of the site seems too big.. Maybe its the green sidebars being chunky. Idk... something with it just doesn't look good to me. On the other hand, I actually do like your Mobile version. The only complaint I have is about how you formatted some of the 'quick conferemce links' near the bottom of the screen. It makes the page like 1000 ft long, and I think it would be better if you had the conferences expand horizontally with 2 or 3 rows... Maybe go by P5 and G5 conferences and then whatever is left over (since BB has more conferences).

Dude, you said WMU lost their two leading scores: NOT.......that is a major error which shows you don't follow the MAC and don't do your research--a sin for a pundit or talking head

RE: dudeonsports MAC basketball preview
Brown coming back is huge for WMU don't get me wrong, but even though its only one major loss, you cannot overestimate what losing Whittington does to WMU. The man was an absolute beast. They will still be in the hunt for the MAC West but I just don't see them in much better position than NIU right now. I agree with dekalb that Toledo is the favorite, but even though WMU is the defending champions, its hard to make much of a distinction between them and the Huskies right now based on paper.

RE: dudeonsports MAC basketball preview
The reason I am picking NIU to win the MACC is their defense and bench. I believe NIU will be one of the top two defenses in the MAC. I believe NIU will have the top bench in the MAC. And I believe NIU will be one of the top four scoring teams in the MAC. I also feel NIU will be the best home-court team in the conference. Huskies win a MACC in ftball and bball, mark my words its going to happen this year. Good times are ahead Huskie fans!

If NIU finishes in the top 4 in offense, then no doubt, they will be the best team in the conference. I would probably would tend toward somewhere between yours and 7's view of the offense. I don't know if it will be quite that improved (mainly because under Montgomery there is always going to be some level of dedication to defense which does drain some from the offense), but I think a middle of the pack offense is quite possible, and that could be enough. I don't know if Im ready to say NIU will win the MAC, but with a team that deep and that good defensively, Im certainly not ready to say they wont win it.

Hard to argue, although I think EMU could be in for a big big decline this year.
