fun stat regarding tomorrows game
i've heard a lot this week about all the "NFL players" mississippi has so i got curious and pulled up cbs sports projected 2015 NFL draft list. UCLA had 3 guys in the top 100 projected draft picks (brett hundley #19, ellis mcarthy #29 & eric kendricks #66. Mississppi has 1 guy listed in the top 100 projected draft picks (cody prewitt #81).

just thought it was interesting.

I would bet if you project past next years draft, ole miss would have more. All their big time guys are young.

Yep.

They were lower tier SEC level. Now they are mid tier SEC level. Good enough to pull off an upset, but this is not 2001 Miami.

Yes Mississippi fans...first..this IS a Memphis fan board...and maybe your kids get lucky and win big tomorrow...but...we shall see.

Jeb, Have listened to all the Ol Missers at work spout "we have SEC speed", "stable of NFL prospects", "QB with 1000 yds", etc.
Then out comes the $100 bill and me saying I'll take poor ol Memphis and the points. So far no takers. Hotty Potty........

Might want to try the 2016 Draft. Although Tunsil would probably go #1 overall in 2015 if he was eligible, too.

You're joking right? Seriously, they've beaten the mighty Boise State and two nobodys. Not saying they aren't good but UCLA just trounced the #15 team on the road. Why would you even bring it up? I'm not trying to be an *******. I like you. Not sure what you're motivation is here.

They have young players that won't leave this year. The talent they have is not hype. Fortunately, the guy who touches the ball on every offensive possession is not on of those super talented guys.

I agree with this. Also, the one thing i keep thinking about is they have not been able to run the ball and we have. Our running game could make the difference.

I think UCLA is probably better than Ole Miss.

However, Ole Miss has bigger, badder linemen. We have had trouble with really physical line play (like UCF) for years. It's a match-up thing. If we can tire out those big boys, we can win. If not, they are going physically dominate us.

I'm not too worried about the speed angle, but those big bodies are simply not the same type of players that UCLA had.

As coach Fuente would say, run to win, pass to score. The running game and the turnover margin could be the difference.

Yep- and with another top 10 team/game day coming to Oxford next week, Memphis is certainly not mississippi's super bowl, although the converse could be true.

With that, there is no transitive property...but the one big difference in this game is it is like a Super Bowl to the Mississippi coach and players.

Withstand their early adrenaline, and we will be fine.

Mississippi played like our game Saturday was their Super Bowl.

Congratulations to them..it got them the win.

Otherwise...what the hell are you rambling about...?

Another top ten game day? You are giving yourself away. Glad you are proud of your Mississippi team...but this is about. Memphis...not about celebrating Mississippi having a once in a blue moon in terms of SEC level good team. Glad You are excited though.

WE are discussing our game with them and looking to Cincy. Congrats on looking forward to Alabama, but surely there is a board where you can join that circle jerk.

I think we all saw that ole miss has superior talent to ucla. No matter what the omniscient Mimi thinks.

I definitely think Ole Miss has the better defense but I think their Offense will get exposed against Bama.. We did a great Job against their Offense and the "D" just got tired towards the end.. Bama is just a different animal altogether.. Wallace isn't that good IMO.. Bama will run the ball up the gut and negate their speed..
