Those would sure be distracting on the field, imagine trying to watch the qb's eyes and the gold gleam crosses your eyes and blinds you.

Agree with this. A helmet like that would make a great trophy, keepsake, or something similar, but it seems impractical otherwise. If used at all, I'd say night games only.

I did not realize that Flava Flav designed football uniforms..although since his music career is pretty much over...his chicken restaurant went belly up and he can't find work on reality TV ...I suppose he has to do something.

Doesn't Rutgers and others have these type helmets?

BTW, after the game Bowden was asked:

"Was it the shoes?"

He replied: "No, it was the helmets." Lol.

Regardless, great game for the Zips.

I wondered who that was in the Syracuse defensive backfield two weeks ago.
Damn! That man can hit!

Lately the majority of UT's jersey combos have been horrendous. Trying to be like Oregon too much.

I wouldn't mind the 'Oregon look' but the look I saw last night looked more like what the Steelers have done. Some of those Steelers' throw back should have been thrown away... 05-stirthepot

Not quality photo, but nothing different than a lot of teams do.

We were going to wear all white at Cincy then they chose the white out. To stay different Toledo went with white pants and blue helmet vs. Ball State. Did the same with white helmet vs. CMU. If CMU would have worn all maroon the contrast would have made them look nicer.
