RE: Open Thread - Week 5
Louisville limits Wake to -22 rushing yards and 100 total yards but missed FG's and allowing a fumble recovery for a defensive TD turns it into only a 20-10 win. Unimpressive effort again from UofL and I'd be pretty surprised if Wake won an ACC game this year with their offense.

Syracuse defense looking okay, one fumble, one sack. So far stopping Notre Dame.

Our defense has been okay for the most part. The McDonald/Hunt **** show continues however.

Syracuse is not living up to what we thought it could be. No offense Notre Dame, but you're not that good , but we shouldn't be this bad.

What about our coaches or talent at QB screams we shouldn't be this bad?

We are what we are. An undisciplined team who is poorly coached and has no D1 talent at the most important position on the field.

We're not that good but that score should have been a lot worse.... We need to clean it up. 5 Turnovers and still a16 point victory all take it but we can be better

You're lucky it wasn't closer. The refs screwed Syracuse out of a touchdown on that quick whistle on the fumble. The pass interference that Notre Dame got away with in the middle of the fourth quarter was awful too.

We still would've lost but this truly is getting aggravating how week after week Syracuse gets by far the worst of the officiating.

refs need to get better as well as they were not good in the game. We got beat but officials helped us get beat with quick whistle at end of 1st half and blown pass interference on hunt interception. ND 's defense is for real probably the best one we will face all year. Louisville game on Friday becomes a must win with florida State coming up. Terrell Hunt is not the problem for SU we have no playmakers except hunt's running

Well we played well and beat a good Duke team.

Was surprised with the defensive effort, guess the coaches really worked their butts off following last week's collapse at Nebraska. Offense looks like a struggle, again, primarily because of the O Line...

Crowd was loud and into the game tho so a win's a win.

3-2 (1-1).

One other comment:

Referees were horrible. Replay booth messed up badly a few times and worst unsportsmanlike I've ever seen.

Other than that, it was fun.

Give Bonnafon a break! It was his first start as a true freshman, he played only 1 season at QB @ Trinity, wasnt told that he was starting until Thursday &, oh yeah, his father passed just last weekend. The D played great again.

He is neither the problem nor is the solution. He is just a guy. Hard to win with those without talent around him.

He is the best we have, last night was probably the best he has thrown the deep ball in his time here. He will remain the best we have thru next season hope he continues to get better. Last night was better in that against a team with way more talent we didn't get taken to the woodshed but nd tried to give us the game in the 1st half

The talent around Hunt is ok but not great. Hunt is a very capable qb. He threw for almost 300 yards last night, against Notre Dame, even though most of the time the receivers couldn't get open. The fact that little known Ben Lewis came out of nowhere and kept burning the ND corners tells me there is more talent their than you guys are giving credit for. IT's THE PLAYCALLING. That's why the last 2 games SU was not able to complete drives because of bad play calling.

If SU was lacking talent like a lot of folks are claiming, then they wouldn't have run up and down the field on Maryland to the tune of almost 600 yards, while limiting Maryland to 369 yards. And this team certainly would not have gotten 430 yards against a team like ND, if there were no talent. SU doesn't have the talent to beat Elite teams like ND or FSU, but they can play with everybody else in the ACC.
