People who are that paranoid have no business being in the police force. He is lucky he didn't hurt or kill anyone else with stray bullets.

If you cant approach a situation without a jumpy trigger finger, you don't need to be a cop. One millimeter could end your career and livelihood, and end an innocent man's life. All because you had a jumpy finger.

Notice how no one so far (including those you would deem as conservatives) has expressed the cop being in the right. I guess we 'effed up your preconceived notion.

Maybe he knew karate like fit.

Not a good officer. Acted very very irresponsibly and should lose his job. He will be sued.
However, if I would have been the motorist, I would have communicated to the officer that once I realized my license was in the vehicle and not on my person. I was going to retrieve it from my vehicle.

Another of tons of examples of police shooting when not justified.
When are the police departments going to act on this. Congress should
pass national tests to weed out individuals like this. Happening way too
much. We should not be living in fear of the police shooting us down
for no real reason.

Scale would be my biggest question about your statement. For example.....

2012 - NYPD Firearm discharge report
1. 35,000 police officers
2. 26,000 - Arrests involving firearm used/displayed/possessed by suspect
3. 60 - Number of officers who discharged their weapon (no data on how many of those were unjustified but one must assume it was few, if any).
4. 30 - Number of suspects who were shot
5. 13 - Officers who were shot

Of course, this is just one city, albeit the largest in America, but I'm not sure this is a pandemic issue. It's an issue that always needs to be addressed during training. Obviously, all officers should be trained effectively.
