Cheney Hammers Obama For Comparing Ferguson Unrest To War On ISIS…

Love it....

Quote:Former Vice President Dick Cheney said he was “stunned” that President Obama appeared to compare the unrest in the Middle East to the unrest in Ferguson, Mo., during his United Nations speech.

Cheney, speaking with Fox News on Wednesday, said it’s “outrageous” to suggest a “moral equivalence” between the two situations.

“I was stunned. I mean, in one case, you’ve got a police officer involved in a shooting. There may be questions about it. They’ll be sorted out through the legal process. There’s no comparison to that with what ISIS is doing to thousands of people throughout the Middle East, with bloody beheadings of anybody they come in contact with,” he said.

The president invoked the demonstrations in Missouri toward the end of his U.N. General Assembly speech in which he urged international partners to join in the fight against the Islamic State and other terror groups.

Obama acknowledged that some countries would question the U.S. call to action.

“I realize that America’s critics will be quick to point out that at times we too have failed to live up to our ideals; that America has plenty of problems within its own borders. This is true. In a summer marked by instability in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, I know the world also took notice of the small American city of Ferguson, Missouri — where a young man was killed, and a community was divided,” Obama said. “So, yes, we have our own racial and ethnic tensions.

Cheney needs to shut up.

He's entirely correct here, but he is such a polarizing figure that sticking his mouth into it does more harm than good. Shut up and go away.

Obama also needs to watch what He says. Provocative statements by Him do severe damage to relations in this country.

I was surprised to hear many on Fox actually praise Obama for his speech.

They're neocons. They like tough talk. That doesn't mean that they would--or he will--follow up by doing the right thing.

And what in your opinion is the right thing to do?

Chaney did a great job the other night. The truth hurts. It especially stings the less intelligent portion of America.

So he's right and you admit to the fact that he's right, but he needs to shut up?

Uhm... am I missing something here?

I'm not admitting anything. I'm stating affirmatively that he is correct in much of what he says.

But he is damaged goods to the extent that he does more harm than good by speaking.

Why is he damaged goods? I have a ton of people in life I don't like, but if they're honest and telling the truth, it shouldn't matter whether or not I like the messenger.

Obama couldn't have made things worse if he tried.

It is the left that has made Cheney toxic. It the same thing they do to all conservatives. All democrats need to do is find anything to harp on, it doesn't even need to be true. This is a direct Saul Allinski Rule for Radical tactic. The problem is the GOP wont follow the same tactics, when they need to. But absolutely will not. The media turns a deaf ear to anything the GOP might have in response, anyway.

I find it amazing that the same group of people who claim to love personal responsibility have no problem whatsoever blaming everything on the left. 03-lmfao03-lmfao

I'm going on record saying yes.

But, then again I have a very different view of the Arab world than most on here.

Actually, I would say I have to agree with you. I don't see air strikes making much of a difference.

I would love to hear your views on the Arab world.

Doesn't matter to you, doesn't matter to me, but there's a large segment of the population that anything that comes out of Cheney's mouth is automatically disbelieved. And in the end that does more harm than good.

He should speak his mind--privately.

And I don't agree that he's 100% right. He is correct that Obama is screwing the pooch. But his solution is no better.

We have nobody on either team willing to face what needs to be done. And half-assed actions, no matter which half, do more harm than good.
