Very true. Sexual abuse is probably worse than murder. Murder destroys someone's body while sexual abuse detaches one's body from its soul.

I received a $1000 scholarship every semester from my fraternity's endowment. Fees for out of house members were far less than that. I got paid to be in a fraternity.

Fraternities can be good. It all depends on the fraternity, the school, the area, etc. Some frats are more for the privileged kids and some are not. They're not all a bunch of collar popping, bow tie wearing to football game douchebags. I always thought I would've never considered joining a fraternity but I ended up in one that was more made up of "average Joes" than rich preps.

Like it or not, rich preps with connections are good life contacts to have. I will encourage my son to join one. Good investment I wish I had made myself in retrospect. Granted, it was 13 years ago, but they all graduated with decent jobs already lined up while it took me several years of scratching and clawing to get on that level of employment they were on upon graduation.
