Tulane not finishing second in Louisiana recruiting, behind LSU, is a big concern. They should not be behind La Tech and the other Louisiana school mentioned.

Tulane has a history, including being a former member of the SEC, choosing to leave on their own free will, a decision that probably haunts them today. After leaving the SEC, they still managed a perfect 12 and 0 season (1998) while ranking 7th that year.

Bother competing schools have much shorter FBS history and with only minor success.

La Tech is 49 and 48 against CUSA teams. They have a grand total of 7 FBS bowl games include a couple of decade+ long gaps.

University of Louisiana at Lafayette didn't win their first bowl game until 2011. The first 10+ years in the Sun Belt they had one season over .500 winning percentage.
