"Pitching for the Rice Owls, Jackson Parthasarathy, a freshman from Lake Travis HS in Austin;
"And behind the plate catching, a walk-on junior from Hightower HS in Missouri City, Sanjiv Gopalkrishnan."
The mind boggles to think what JP will do with this on the radio!
At least JP will have an entire pre-season to practice. What about the announcers in ballparks we visit? Remember how they struggled with
Ojala...... Perrott...... Aquino .....Chargois ....Buenger.....Leutge......?
??? You do realize that neither is likely to see ANY playing time this coming year...and, no disrespect to either, but if they do (meaning a continuation of last year's injury plague) we are in for a very long season.
Uhhhhhhhh....Parthasarathy doesn't even matriculate until "this coming year" is over............ Geez, when you have to explain a joke, it takes all the humor right out of it!
Col, I knew your original post was a joke, but the two follow-on replies implied more seriousness.

Jeesh, lighten up. My follow-on was just an extension of ColOwl's original joke.
