Bye week blahs
David Goricki has an article on CMU, EMU and WMU. Franklin at WMU is tearing it up as a RB. I saw his game vs. Purdue. Very, very impressive.

BTW, I think Rawls is back at CMU after a plea deal.

ODU (remember them) have a nationally televised game Friday night vs. M. Tenn State on Fox Sports 1. A chance to see them and their stadium. (nice stadium).

RE: Bye week blahs
To me the bye is a chance to refocus on the upcoming remaining slate of conference games. You get Roback, Hansen, Wylie and Hurcombe and whoever else is injured back to full strength. Hopefully Bolden gets more reps. I must say that Bell has a lot to improve on fundementals wise ie handoffs, throwing the ball away. What we see in conference play hopefully is the return of the power running game, elimination of careless plays on special teams and better timing and concentration between QB and WRs.

Hopefully Bronson Hill becomes more of the focus of the gameplan.

RE: Bye week blahs
MAC played some very impressive games this week after some bad, bad games last week.

WMU played Va. Tech very tough (one Tech TD was a fluke when the WMU defender fell down coming out of his break; the Tech WR didn't have a defender within 20 yards of him). Akron beat Pitt solidly - in Pitt. Ohio is playing very, very well vs. E. IL.

Akron has beautiful, shiny new helmets to go with their shiny stadium.

WMU also spotted them 8 points due to stupid mistakes about a minute into the game. Fumbled the opening kickoff that they ran in for a touchdown (blocked the XP) then wmu had a 3 and out and had to punt but snapped the ball out of the back of the endzone for a safety. They were up 8-0 before I turned the game on. If it wasn't for that it would have been extremely competitive.

Bowden was a great hire. They are going to kill Eastern next week.
