Plush/Crave/380/Studio G was always a good concert venue.
Nothing different. Just spin.

As long as it's spun into a reputable club, it's all good.

Too far away from the main part of Beale to be successful imo.

Plush and Crave were successful. It's outside forces resulting from some of its clientele that led to the closures, not the lack of a paying audience.

What's a reputable club? BB King's?
Nightclubs are inherently unreputable.
What you are asking for is a spot where people aren't shooting up the place and outside the place.

Plush and Crave were successful.
What percentage of posters here ever went to those two clubs when they were open?
What percentage of posters here would attend a concert at a decent venue on Beale?

It all depends on the line up. If it is a line up like Seattle's Jazz Alley then there will be no problems. If the lineup is full of COINTELPRO culture destabilizing acts, i.e. thug/gangsta rap the same fate will befall The Palace as the others. It is starting off with one strike, as the name "Palace", is synonymous with here today, gone tomorrow nightclubs. However, I do not believe Memphis has the population to support a Jazz Alley type of place.

Hopefully as hotel development (2 already announced) stretches east from the Peabody, the stretch of Fourth from Union to Beale sees improvement/infill, and turns into a bridge to the Walker/EdgeGSWTCC area

I've never heard anyone defend Plush/Crave/whatever.
