And you realize that Oxford is just outside of Memphis and we have played them many many years. No love lost between schools. There is a great thread on our main board started by a Rebel fan.

Are there truly any worse fans in the entire nation than those of Mississippi....?
D@MN HLT! Its a-okay for you to trash our school and our coach in every way imaginable, but he is SH!T for posting a picture of a tiger fan?!? I'm sorry to hear about the poor health of the gentleman that was in the photo, but screw you for taking it so personally. Like we know who the hell he is...
Don't think you will be wanting to sit down with these people and drink a beer 04-cheers
Thanks to champ for copying the post so I could read it after it was deleted.

Friggin' right, banker....this is our board, and I will rip that trashhole mint julep sucking, Abner's chicken strip chomping, "Look at my pretty pink tie. Won't this look grand in the Grove, Fitzgerald?", wishing it was 1965, STILL naming their kids "Archie", STILL haven't been to Atlanta, HASN'T DONE A FREAKING THING ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD SINCE THE DAYS OF SEGREGATION, BCS welfare check cashing school any time I EVER feel the need to.

Are we clear on this, skippy....?

For too many years, EVERY FREAKING YEAR, I have had to put up with reading the garbage that your ilk spreads on these message boards about the University of Memphis. And what hurt so bad was, that for so many years, most of what they were saying was true.

But guess what, son...?

Sometime between three to four decades ago and now, John Vaught got REAL old, Archie Manning ran out of eligibility, and to top it all off, there aren't gonna be any more Mannings for at least twenty years!!

So seriously....what in the world are you going to do for the next twenty years....?

It's a proven fact that your football team has NEVER.....NEVER accomplished a single thing without a Vaught or a Manning on the field.

How does it feel, man...? It's gotta be absolutely KILLING you idiots that you're watching a legitimate football program being built right here at good ol' Memphis State....good ol' ***** ****...hey, we were always good for an easy victory, right....?

While you're cashing in your millions every year from the accomplishments of your "peers" in the SEC.. (did you ever call Tuberville and thank him for leaving Mississippi and going to a school where he has a chance to make the BCS and get you your millions..?) ...we're building our history.....one step at a time, we're getting closer and closer to you boys. And we're doing every bit of it without ONE SINGLE PENNY from the BCS...

Can you imagine how quickly we'll surpass you if, good Lord willing, we do get that Big East invite and we then get the same access to those millions that you've been getting for years...?

Holy crap, man.....we'll pass you up so fast, you'll feel like eight Houston defenders fifteen yards behind DeAngelo Williams, dashing to the end zone.

Basically, all I'm trying to say is.....you don't like what we have to say here......DON'T COME AROUND HERE!!! It's not like you'll be here after September 5th anyway.

And don't you dare talk to me about getting personal....Rebel fans are NOTORIOUS for crossing the line of decency. You folks made it clear years ago that NOTHING is off limits when it comes to Memphis v. Mississippi.

So you know what.....?

We'll just see you on Labor Day. Until then, go make another run to Abner's........get me a six piece while you're there....AND DON'T FORGET THE RANCH....runt...

Has Ole Miss finagled a Tigers basketball game or two out of this?

Unfortunately yes. Arkansas and Tennessee want in as well

RE: Hate Memphis Week
Jose's stance on Memphis
Quote:Now that the bye week has passed it is time to focus on this week’s opponent and not look ahead to the following week which could be the biggest thing Oxford, Mississippi has seen since the’ 87 Sigma Nu-Kappa swap ended with Chancellor Gerald Turner launching tear gas canisters into the courtyard. Whatever you do, you simply cannot look ahead.

On to Alabama.

Dammit. Meant Memphis.

In 2007 University of Memphis president, Shirley Raines signed the American College and University President’s Climate Commitment (ACCUPCC) pledging to become carbon neutral in the coming years. José has long maintained a strict carbon neutrality stance, siding with neither the pro-carbon nor anti-carbon factions. It has proven to make for a less stressful existence, though he has periodically faced pressure from both camps.

As for the Memphis football squad, the Tigers would like nothing more than to put a damper on the Ole Miss season and announce themselves as a team on the rise in the process. The Memphis program was in shambles just a couple of seasons ago, but there is no question that they are improved. Just how improved remains to be seen. It is one thing to play a UCLA team (overrated in José’s opinion but that is neither here nor there) close, but going to a top ten SEC team’s stadium and coming out victorious would be one of, if not the biggest win in Tiger history. And make no mistake; the team believes it is capable of doing so. Their fans certainly do and the most obnoxious ones will likely make the trip to Oxford. Prepare for an armada of jorts heretofore unseen in these parts.

There is much at stake in this game for the Ole Miss Rebels. The crew of ESPN Gameday has long stated they would love to come to Oxford, but the Rebel football team needed to make it happen with their performances on the field. Make no mistake, it should have occurred for the LSU game in 2003, but a pedestrian Ohio State-Michigan contest was chosen instead. Now it is there for the taking and a win over Memphis is all that stands in the way. But you cannot think about that. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Don’t put the cart before the horse. Blah. Blah. Blah. Just win this freaking game and there will be a party next weekend to rival that Sigma Nu-Kappa swap.

My name is José Valdez IV and these are my thoughts.

Unfortunately yes. Arkansas and Tennessee want in as well

So far, UT doesn't want in, and we're supposedly not negotiating with Ark. So right now, it's only OM. And nobody gets a basketball game/series without our equal access to football.

No joke at all.

They do love the Peabody.

I do also, but those folks live for a night in the Peabody lobby bar.
