USF's Defense has looked pretty solid for the m ost part. It is the QB play and offensive playcalling that is a little worrisome. I am pulling for Taggert to turn it around though.

Even if that's true, at least your up and down cycles are normal. I'd love a Fiesta 'up' and a six-win 'down'. Our crash is becoming legendary. smh...

Yeah, it's a real head-scratcher to me. Not too long ago, you guys were seriously primed to be a national power, or at the very least a perennial top 25 program.

We took a "not terrible" Memphis team down to the St. Petersburg bowl and got absolutely skull-dragged by the Bulls. I think that was the same year you went into Auburn and won.

I'm happy for UCF to give us a good Florida football team, but would really like to see USF return to prominence too.

USFs problem has always been consistency more than anything.

They'd have a few big wins, skyrocket in the rankings, and then proceed to lose multiple games in a row to unranked teams and finish the season unranked.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen USF pull of a huge victory and follow it up with a loss in conference. They've certainly shown flashes of brilliance, but have never been consistent enough to finish a season ranked or win their conference.

If there's one thing that USF needed/needs to do, it was to be consistent. If they could play at the same level all year, they'd certainly make waves.

The fact that they were underdogs on the road is kinda significant, doushtrodamas. As for Tulsa, they are a conference newb going through the final days of a bad hire.

For the most part, I thought our teams were competitive out there. Rome wasn't built in a day.
