The lack of television exposure has CTF upset. He is having a hard time recruiting the type of player he wants because of the lack of exposure and I have heard that he would like for UTEP to be in a better basketball conference.

I'm sure every basketball coach in the league wants more exposure and to be in a better basketball league. This one will be good this year with LTU and UTEP and ODU and WKU and Charlotte. We need to get more than one in the big dance this year and make some noise while we are there.

People do not understand how upset he is with the current conference situation. The rest of the nation views CUSA as a one bid league and that was evident last year with only Tulsa being the only team in the NCAA tournament even though the conference has two 29 win teams.

We need to make some noise in hoops this year and grab the Access Bowl right before TV negotiations start up.

CUSA can be right there with the AAC in football but holy schamoly, the gap in basketball coverage is monstrous. ECU and Tulane may end up with more national broadcasts than all of CUSA combined.

And for what it's worth, I'd rather have a crummy slot on a network than a slightly better one on a channel that's a distant second at best to ESPN on cable.

I think people (*ahem* hello?) understand frustration with the league having only one-bid last year.

Sorry to hear CTF is upset. But he knew what CUSA was about so not sure the "upsetness" is warranted.

Looks like the ASN will be playing a large part of CUSA basketball, which is fine. But I hope CUSA is able to move on from Fox and land a better deal, they have been extremely disappointing.

The CAA has a significantly better TV deal for basketball than us.

We might have better luck as a conference if teams would not schedule opponents outside of D1 competition. That is a necessary mandate that the conference needs to make if we want to be on TV more or be taken seriously.

Yep, D2s, etc should only be allowed for exhibition games.

Exactly right. I have not seen any printed remarks attributed to him but it's not like the conference basketball tv package has gotten any worse. It's always been like this except that Memphis would get more tv slots because they were always ranked. Some of the remaining teams need to reach that level before it gets better.

Road Runner fans, I remember last year there was at least part of the season that your athletic department did not stream basketball games. Is that the case again this year?
