I am somewhat new to the board, though was active years ago. Its been so long I forgot even my username! :)
Anyway.... hoops season is in on the horizon. I cant believe it! I was in the grocery and already saw a couple preview mags. I think Sporting News and Lindy's are out. I could see WKU finishing a bit higher than expected and also SMU. I think UAB will be hurt more by the loss of Frazier than some forecasters expect. And UNCC has some hype to meet.

Anyone read the preview mags?

I think Lindy's had WKU around 5 or 6. It talked about them being a good addition, but probably not walking in as a top tier team.

If we do not finish in top tier(top 4 or so) will be some disappointed WKU fans me included...Not sure we can take La. Tech or UTEP, but most WKU fans believe no reason we can not finish at least in top 4 of conf. and competing for title....We have a lot of experience coming back....Should be a fun season!

I think uncc has some big upside.
I was thinking uab would be very good but frazier loss is big. Still a lot of talent.

As talented if not more than Anderson's first class at UAB that netted three NCAAs (One sweet 16) and a NIT run.

Lindy's has UTEP as the top team in CUSA and #25 nationally. This is the best UTEP team Tim Floyd has had. I would be shocked and extremely disappointed if UTEP didn't win at least 26 games this year.

Nope have not read it but I have scouted our team..............LOL Have not read any pre-season rags.

I think the Herd will win some games that we aren't supposed to. Beyond that I don't know. Should be fundamentally sound and have some shooting for a change. That's enough to give a few wins that we couldn't get last year.

When do practices start? I know back in the day, Midnight Madness was October 15. But, I also know they moved that up recently. I want to say it's October 1. If so, that's a week away.
