One of the most talented sports announcers ever! He was a great guy!

The best play by play announcer the Trojans have ever had. And he was a true Trojan fan. It wasn't just a job for him. Ray Tucker doesn't even come close, no has anyone else that the Trojans have had since he left. That was quite a tribute the Dallas FOX station gave him. He also did a great job hosting the Newell TV show. It was a first class show, unlike any we've had in years with the AD hosting. I suspect one of the high schools that has a broadcasting program could put on a better one. RIP Max, you were the best. God bless.

+1. Very sad. His time on earth was much too short. But if there are games in Heaven to be broadcast, you can rest assured he'll be right in front of that microphone. He will be missed by all with whom ever came in contact with him.

So sad. Max really was the reason I became a Trojan fan. Having moved to little rock from monroe la in '83 I was stunned by the hogism displayed. Hearing max on the radio one night and he had me and I'm still a fan. Because of his wonderful skill of describing the game made me feel like a part of the team. God bless his family and rest in peace max
