I used "SBL" because this will have an effect on Blazer Baseball in 2015. It's anyone's guess whether this will be good, bad, or indifferent for UAB. Given the limited number of college baseball fans in the area, I don't think it will be good.

If someone has posted an article about this before, sorry for the duplication.

Don't sweat it. You qualified it in the subject line. Thanks for posting it.

I vote "indifferent." I think of the crowds I saw at our games last year, and I can't imagine too many of them going to a roll tide game instead. Plus the pull of Regions Park and the rest of that area is much greater than the Met just being out in the middle of the woods in Hoover.

All it takes is one trip to the Met to realize how much better the Barons and UAB have it at Regions Field.

And don't think for one second that UA isn't upgrading their facilities because of UAB's new home field.

I think it is some what related because the powers that be NOT thinks that Birmingham should be their playground instead of Tuscaloosa. That is the source of all of our grief.

I don't think the Sewell Field redo has anything to do with UAB playing at Regions Park. I think it has everything to do with keeping up the the SEC Jonses, for recruiting purposes.

Wonder where are they're gonna put the waterfall in the baseball stadium?
