Could never stay healthy. Released with an injury settlement

Probably. He'll get another shot somewhere this year or next year.

If he signed to the bears practice squad he would forfeit the remaining amount of his injury settlement. He'll either sign to an active roster when he is healthy or I would guess that he'll cash in on the injury settlement. I have no clue how long his settlement was designated for though.

Basically if TB and Melvin agreed to an 8 week injury settlement, but Melvin signed to the Bears PS after 4 weeks, he would be forfeiting half of his injury settlement.

Thanks was not sure how that worked. I would be rehabbing like crazy and then try and hook on to the 53 man roster.

Yeah he is free to sign somewhere else but he can't double dip on his injury settlement and a new salary. I'm sure he'll be shooting for an active 53 spot, but if he can't get there he can always sign on to someone's PS as soon as his injury settlement is over.

In reality it is not when the injury settlement is over. It is when the injury is over, and that may be awhile or maybe never.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He can come back before the injury settlement is over, he just forfeits the remainder of the injury settlement amount. If they said he had an 8 week healing process, he would get paid 8/17ths of his salary. If he is healthy enough to sign with someone else after 4 weeks, he will only receive 4/17ths of his salary from TB and then he will have a new contract with a new team.

Did you read what I said? I would bet he will not play a down in a regular season NFL game.
