Actually, Memphis got 3 votes in the last AP poll. A nightmare scenario for Marshall is if Memphis upsets #10/#11 ranked Ole Miss on Saturday. As you well know Ole Miss is way overrated so it could happen.
A second nightmare scenario for Marshall could also happen on Saturday if Cincinnati upsets Ohio State. tOhio State is also very overrated and Cincinnati is already getting votes in every poll so if Cincinnati wins against tOSU then Cincinnati is going to be ranked.
Marshall fans have a lot of games to watch this weekend and then in a few weeks Boise State will have a game against #20 BYU.
There are nightmare scenarios for all the teams still in consideration for the Access Bowl, but it has nothing to do with this thread. ECU can drop a few games in conference. Memphis could be destroyed by Ole Miss. Cincinnatti may lose to OSU leaving only the Miami game scores for comparison with Marshall. We have seen arrogance turn humble on Saturday before. All Marshall can do is continue playing the kind of ball they are currently. There is still a lot of football to play.
History says that Marshall will drop more games in conference than ECU.
History also shows that Marshall is at least 31 points better than ECU and easily more this year. Hey you beat an overrated VT and UNC on the road which was impressive but not as awesome as you'd like to think especially as the season will play out and you see where these teams really are. Same as South Carolina.
History also shows that 10>5. That is the number of games by which ECU leads the series over Marshall.

History shows you spend more time over here prostituting ECU than you do over there prostituting ECU. ECU is off to an awesome start, I'm sure they don't need you to be over here spouting off the greatness of the Pirates on the CUSA Board.

Rod you ruin every thread that you post in. You and Banker live on the other board, but I noticed that Banker has not been back since it became evident what would have to happen for Marshall to get the Access spot.
Your first sentence is your opinion; you're entitled to it even if it is a lie. Second, I don't live on the AAC Board and I don't post there often. But since you're always on the look out for me you would notice if I too a boo-boo. Third, what's evident is like Marshall, ECU needs to win out to get that Access Bowl spot. If you don't think that needs to happen for ECU then go ahead and lose a game.

for one of the very few posters that has ever been actually documented to lie on these boards, you sure like to throw that word around a lot
First of all dipchit, Tampa knows full well I am a Blazer fan. He knows my former handle use to be BlazerRod which is why when he is trying to antagonize me (like you're failing to do), he refers to me as "Rod". The reason why he went back 4 years to dig that up is because he likes to keep up immature crap on a messageboard which is team is no longer a part of.
Which brings me to this question, why is it that you continue to come over here and troll and stalk me? Are you a wanted messageboard stalker??? Should I be checking the post office to see if you're wanted by the messageboard FBI?
you changed your name from blazerod to bamascorpio69
There is a group of ECU fans that have the most fragile egos on the interwebs. If they don't get attention and affirmation they go crazy. They need outsiders to validate their team. It's a little creepy.

For Marshall, to get the Access Bowl Invitation they need to slaughter all of us by giant margins! So, I think you are right. " Marshall will upset Marshall." While I think MT, ODU, WKU and UAB have a shot at knocking them off; I predict Marshall wins all of them with two of the games being razor thin nail biting 3 point victories. Those two will probably be ODU and UAB! IF ECU, BYU or Cincy keep rolling; one of them will get the ABI! Thus, Best Case Scenario is probably Marshall ends up #25 in Polls and gets a decent bowl invite, and we all get to raise HELL with the Committee that selects the Bowl Participants for not picking Marshall for ABI!

Thorn in side on the road is UAB. I don't expect us to win as Clark needs another class under his belt but won't be surprised if UAB does pull off the upset. If Marshall has already lost I think they handle UAB. If Marshall is undefeated I think it is an upset in the making if that makes sense.
This is mere wishful thinking but, the homer that I am, I voted for FAU. We did give a hard time to Marshall last year and made Cato look VERY beatable. This time, however, we're playing them away, that may make this insurmouuntable.

Again, BYU does not factor into this. They (BYU) are not eligible to receive the automatic spot in the Access Bowl because they are not part of a G-5 conference.

I'll take your word, but it sounds like we've got BYU in Limbo! If they're not P-5 and not G-5; then, are Independents not eligible for ABI? Under your scenario, if ECU and Cincy fail, and Marshall runs the table they really do get the ABI!!!
UAB has a good chance. They are playing well this year. UAB is also the upset team for CUSA.
I am hopefully optimistic we have fixed our road issues. It seems we are doing much better in away games than last year. We had a ton of penalties at Akron, but we played some very solid ball.

I don't see any games in conference being decided by any margin less than what our coaches decide it to be. Exception is UAB, i just want to escape legion with a win. Ill take a 1 point win.

I wouldn't say you had road issues as much as you're superhuman at home. Maybe it's something in the water.
