Who will upset Marshall?
I understand that it's inconceivable, and that the mere mention of it is witchcraft, but if (just 'if') someone were to upset Marshall in conference this year, who might that plucky punter be?

Seems like their conference schedule even avoided the higher-tier teams lol. I mean they're good, no doubt, but damn.

Option 9: No one.
WKU is putting up over 600 YPG, though, so I guess it is fathomable that the Toppers could win a shootout.

WKU and ODU are both capable with some help with unforced errors. A repeat performance from Saturday from Heinicke and throw in a couple of fumbles and a couple more interceptions would do it. Will it happen? I doubt it. Can it happen? Absolutely.

I think it's gonna have to be someone on the road because even when Marshall isn't good they are nightmares at home. I voted ODU, but I'm not sure if they have enough defense to pull it off.

RE: Who will upset Marshall?
I honestly would give UAB the nod here...and actually, even USM...As another Herd fan stated, all it takes is for one bad game, unfavorable elements, injury, or even just a bad night's sleep...
Historically, we play like a hot mess in front of empty stadiums (no offense intended).
I do, however, think we will not lose at home... We are a completely different team in the friendly confines...
But it really doesn't matter...we have to bring it each and every week...period.

RE: Who will upset Marshall?
Even if I'm not being a homer, I'd have to go with UAB. Combination of road game, offense that can score, and a defense that can possibly slow down Marshall. It will be really tough for Middle or Western to win on the road, and I think ODU won't have the defense to stop Marshall enough times.

I voted UAB, but if they lose at all, it will be on the road.

RE: Who will upset Marshall?
I'm gonna say UAB right now. I'm really hoping that ODU can beat MTSU, and then swing that momentum into Marshall but you never know what'll happen. I predicted 6-6 for this squad going into the season, and if the above happens then ODU 5-1. That'd be pretty incredible, which is why I'm voting UAB.

Going with the party feeling and picking ODU as the possible upset. Packed house, Heinicke, Cato, shootout, us by a field goal late. Maybe OT.
Or we get blown out of the water. Exciting times.

I voted UAB. But hey, anything can happen on any given day. No one is invincible. Seems to me non Marshall posters are making more of this than actual Herd fans. I have yet to see or read a Marshall fan emphatically say - we are going undefeated. Do we hope - sure. Will we - I doubt it.

I went with ODU, but the real question right now is; can the Monarchs take care of business against the Blue Raiders Friday night? If the Monarchs can do that, I will feel a lot better about the possibility of upsetting Marshall.

I voted ODU...
...because I'm a homer.
Seriously though, it would be a monumental task. 2014 Marshall is better than 2013 UNC. Of course, we hopefully won't be nearly as depleted as we were in that game, but...

Marshall played like crap in B'HAM in 2012. UAB came out and in the middle of the 3rd quarter Marshall was down 31-7. And ended up losing 38-31. If anyone can do it, its probably UAB.
Im not saying Marshall is going to go undefeated, that's hard to do for anyone with any schedule. But for them to lose both the offense and defense will have to fall apart in the same game.
Marshall has outscored their opponents so far this year 182-65 or an avg score of 46-16.

IDK, most of the ones voting for ODU are ODU fans. I voted for UAB because its close to the end of the season, UAB has played well so far, and it'll be at UAB.

RE: Who will upset Marshall?
Recusing myself from the homer pick I think I'll go with USM. It's on the road and upsets by definition always come from the blind side.
I liked OD's win over Rice. I just don't think it's going to help you sneak up on Marsha.
