Bad news for Rutgers
Paul James out for the season with torn ACL. I'm not a Rutgers guy but hate to hear this.

Have to feel for the guy. Was top-5 in rushing TD's going into yesterday's game. Hopefully he can come back healthy for his senior year and get some looks for the NFL.

Horrible news for Rutgers.

Hopefully the young man recovers and can come back. Who does Rutgers have in the stable to replace him?

James is a beast with the ball. This is a really big lose for us. Hopefully he recovers fully and can finally have his breakout year on the big stage in 15. In the mean time we have several other backs that have a lot of potential and high ceilings. One of them just needs to step up and seize the day.

Justin Goodwin and Desmon Peoples are the next 2 up. Goodwin is a true sophomore, Peoples is a 3rd year Sophomore. Goodwin had 521 rushing yards last year filling in for James, and had 100 yards in Navy game last week. They moved him to CB during fall camp, but moved him back right before the Navy game in a good move.

Peoples has looked good as the change of pace back so far.

Behind them we have a pair of freshman in Josh Hicks and Robert Martin. Both were rated 4* on ESPN.com last year. Neither of those has played a lot this year at RB, but they have been in the special teams units.

Rutgers started off last season strong and then promptly fell apart as soon as Paul James got hurt. Peoples and Goodwin have an extra year of experience this time around so hopefully they have a better shot of keeping it together.

Huggins was also the primary back last year after James went down. Let's see how this goes now with Goodwin and Peoples picking up most of the load.

Don't forget Josh Hicks waiting his turn. The kid is really good.
