Football is a funny game
Arkansas State gets outgained by 97 yards, and only hits 300 yards of total offense because the game went to OT.

Louisiana Tech goes for over 400 total yards and outgains their opponent by 100 yards.

Arkansas State trailed for everything but the final 4 minutes of regulation and the overtime period.

Louisiana Tech led for the entire game except for the last 1:05.

Arkansas State allowed their opponent to possess the ball 7 times inside the ASU 37 yard line.

Louisiana Tech allowed at least 7 posessions inside the LTU 37 yard line.

Arkansas State turned the ball over 4 times

Louisiana Tech turned the ball over 5 times.

Arkansas State beat an FBS program that has won 29 games in three years, and is likely an 8 or 9 win team this year.

Louisiana Tech lost to a below average FCS School

Do you have any stats from your game against bye this week? Did Not Kolton Browning look like Kolton Browning?

Arkansas State did not celebrate their biggest loss of the year by sending $10K in fireworks up in smoke.

They also turned a bowl bid until they kept a good team home. So..you surprised.

Just pointing out that stats don't tell the story of a football game.

Yeah sorry I'm still bitter they blew us out...and from how I'm seeing UL play, we'd probably lose to them too...

He is just pointing out how fortunate ASU was to win the game last night against a mediocre backup QB aided by a 4th and 9 pas interference call late in the fourth after trailing 14-7. Give them this, they found a way to win.

Pretty much. Though I don't know if Garrison is mediocre. He's just not Chuckie Keeton.

He was 6-1 as a starter coming into the game with stAte.

6-1 last year after taking over for Keeton. Don't you wish you had him.

Wish we were relying on a mediocre back-up QB with 7 starts and 6 wins under his belt coming into this year including beating a Jordan Lynch led NIU.

Dude, he is mediocre at best. Why do you suppose he lost his job to Keeton? Because he was the better QB?

Well Chuckie Keeton was a dark horse Heisman Trophy candidate coming into the season. There are a lot of QB's at major conference schools that would have lost the starting job to him.

I'm sure your right but 6-1 starter last season in MWC play says a lot. Keaton fits their offense better with the mobility. Garrison has the better arm.

Garrison isn't mobile and so ASU contained him in the pocket. When he did scramble he wasn't accurate. Half their game plan went out the door with Keeton on sideline. Without the threat of Keeton's legs, ASU didn't have to keep a spy in the box and were able to drop one extra into coverage.

Don't get me wrong, in no way am I saying UL is better than ASU at this time. But leave it up to State fans to ignore the obvious, you didn't have to defend Keeton period. If Garrison wasn't a stiff, he would be starting. He is not capable of sustaining a drive with his legs. He showed it Saturday night.
