Wish we were relying on a mediocre back-up QB with 7 starts and 6 wins under his belt coming into this year including beating a Jordan Lynch led NIU.

Dude, he is mediocre at best. Why do you suppose he lost his job to Keeton? Because he was the better QB?

Well Chuckie Keeton was a dark horse Heisman Trophy candidate coming into the season. There are a lot of QB's at major conference schools that would have lost the starting job to him.

Garrison isn't mobile and so ASU contained him in the pocket. When he did scramble he wasn't accurate. Half their game plan went out the door with Keeton on sideline. Without the threat of Keeton's legs, ASU didn't have to keep a spy in the box and were able to drop one extra into coverage.

Don't get me wrong, in no way am I saying UL is better than ASU at this time. But leave it up to State fans to ignore the obvious, you didn't have to defend Keeton period. If Garrison wasn't a stiff, he would be starting. He is not capable of sustaining a drive with his legs. He showed it Saturday night.
