Las Vegas Invitational
Hello fellow Tiger fans. Not to intrude on this great football season so far, but I would like to ask your advice on the tourney The Tigers will play in Las Vegas.
1) Which airline did you use (and cost)
2) Where are your staying (and cost)
3) Is there some type of charter for this trip.
Originally I planned on travelling out of Dallas, but my fellow Tiger fan connection in Dallas is unsure if he would be able to make the trip. I am considering flying out of Memphis now but can only find connecting flights using Delta, Frontier, etc. Any advice would be appreciated. Replies via PM or this post appreciated.
Thanks

My wife and I went out there last Thanksgiving. We got a direct flight out of Dallas (we live in NW Arkansas though) and stayed at the Hotel at Mandalay Bay. The easiest and best prices I found were to book a package through Expedia. I think for four nights and two round trip tickets from DFW we paid in the $750 range. The Hotel is nice and we enjoyed our stay there, however, it is at the very end of the Strip which is a little inconvenient but it was also kind of nice when we wanted to sleep. If you use a service like Expedia be conscientious of the time of the day you are looking, it makes a difference. It seemed like the exact same trip varied about $500 depending on the time of day I looked (more during peak search hours). It seemed like anytime between 10 pm and 7 am I was able to find the best rates.

I booked my trip last night with Spirit Airlines out of Dallas. My Dallas Tiger connect finally committed to going. Total deal $755 for 2 people room and flight staying mid strip at the Flamingo. 5 nights from Thursday nonstop flight leaving at 8 arriving in LV at 10. Departing Tuesday 11 AM back in dallas at 4. not bad, but Spirit can be a load to dela with as far as their bagagge fees. We only plan to travel with backpacks that are free to carry on.

Cheapest decent flight I can find out of Memphis is $600. Since both my wife and I would go, that would be $1200 just for flights. It probably prices us out.

TigerTim, If you go to deltavacation, you can get room and flight out of memphis for $1200.00 for two people. that is travelling nov 27 and return Dec 1.
Also, Nashville provides a direct fligth to vegas out of southwest fro about the same room and fligh last i checked.
If you have anyone you know in dallas and can get there, you can get room and flight for less that 900 for 2 out of southwest. see the deal I got on spirit for $755 above. just be careful. they nickel and dime you on everything.

I can get a room for virtually free in Vegas, but the flight is what is holding up the deal. I may look at the cost of flights out of Nashville.

Frontier offers a flight from Memphis, but it connects in Denver for around 424 or so.

What are you looking on? I just pulled up package deals on Expedia and for the time frame of 11/27 - 12/1 you can get a round trip ticket and a decent hotel on the strip for less than $600 per person. That is with a one stop flight that departs Memphis at 8:51. Changing the flight time might change the price so perhaps that is what the big difference is?

The must be making a premium then. Buying directly from the Orleans over the phone an all session ticket is $50 something dollars.

The price may depend on where your seats are.
Ordered mine today from the ticket office.
Hope to meet a few of you there.
