RE: Wk. 5: Lines in the Sand
I do think they are some very interesting match ups this week that are going to test some of our "pick-ability" in-conference. Here are my picks:

Middle Tennessee @ Old Dominion; I'm starting to drink the Monarch kool-aid on their offensive abilities. This will be close.
UTEP @ Kansas State: Wildcats are going to be looking for blood after the Auburn loss.
FIU @ UAB: Blazers running game will overcome stout FIU defense
Western Kentucky @ Navy; I want to be very wrong on this, but see Navy winning at home.
LaTech @ Auburn; See no chance for the Dawgs, dog-gone-it.
UTSA @ FAU; If Johnson doesn't fumble last week, they win at Wyoming. Will win at home
Rice @ Southern Miss; I'm going to call a stunning upset here.
Charleston Southern @ Charlotte; CS has too much fire-power for the Niners, I'm afraid.

Have at it, guys!

Middle Tennessee @ Old Dominion; 8:00 PM, ET; Fox Sports 1 Another late field goal.

Saturday, September 27, 2014
UTEP @ Kansas State: 12:00 PM, ET; Fox Sports Network I wouldn't say no chance, but...
FIU @ UAB: 3:30 PM, ET; American Sports Network Feel-good game for UAB.
Western Kentucky @ Navy; 3:30 PM, ET; CBS Sports Network Doughty time!
LaTech @ Auburn; 4:00 PM, ET, SEC Sports Network, Watch ESPN Yikes...
UTSA @ FAU; 5:00 PM, ET; KMYS CW35 'Runners in OT
Rice @ Southern Miss; 7:00 PM, ET; FCS Network Rice won't be as banged up this week.

Future Conference Mate

RE: Wk. 5: Lines in the Sand
Middle at OD: I Middle can press OD's receivers and force Heineke to stay in the box Middle will win. If not, I still think that OD can pull an upset.
Middle Tenn. will win.

UTEP at Kstate: No way can the Miners win. I'm just hoping that we can keep it close and respectful. Kstate has a very good team which should have won against Auburn if not for Special Teams.
Kstate will win.

Fiu at UAB: I have yet to see Uab play but I've seen Fiu and they're in need right now. Not an especially capable team playing in UAB's home, no way fiu wins
Uab will win.

Western at Navy: This is a push game. Navy has the upper hand because of home field advantage but Western can upset. I'm hoping that Western brings their A game if not Navy will take it. But...
Western will upset and win.

LaTech at Auburn: This is a no brainer especially after latech lost to lowly Northwestern. La Tech will get bull dozed and won't have a chance. Keep it respectful Dawgs, that's all that's expected.
Auburn will win.

Ootsa at Fau: After a bye week there will be rusty bones on Ootsa's team and Fau came off a near win against Wyoming at Wyoming so this is another push but I give this game to Fau because of home field advantage if you can call their attendance a home field advantage.
Fau will win.

Rice at SoMiss: Rice can play well with their first string qb, without him they are mediocre at best. SoMiss still needs work and even at home will have a hard time winning against Rice's option.
Rice will win.

Charl.So. at Charlotte: I have no idea on either of these teams so I'll just go with the homer even if Charlotte lost and shouldn't have.
Charlotte will win.

Middle Tennessee @ Old Dominion I'll drink the Kool-Aid. ODU wins at home.

Saturday, September 27, 2014
UTEP @ Kansas State Wildcats win.
FIU @ UAB This will tell us a lot about UAB. FIU is improved since week 1. Coaches and players better not overlook the Panthers.
Western Kentucky @ Navy Bloody option.
LaTech @ Auburn Oof.
UTSA @ FAU - Roadrunners over the Owls.
Rice @ Southern Miss - Eagles have won 3 of 5 games! Rice will win if they can get a player or 2 back on defense.

RE: Wk. 5: Lines in the Sand
The respect is nice, but I'm gonna try to keep perspective here. We have an incredibly young team with a defense that is only now starting to show signs of life. While I absolutely loved winning our first conference game, fact is it was a huge upset, not a game we should have won based off of past performance. The D is 2 years away from being an asset. I'm not sure how many 45-42 games we can win. It's obvious if another team slows down or stops TH we're toast. Not really knowing anything about the other schools defenses, I'm pretty leery of picking us to win. All the other guys need is to limit TH, they don't need a particularly good offense.

RE: Wk. 5: Lines in the Sand
Middle Tennessee @ Old Dominion; ODU's offense is on a roll, similar game as WKU MTSU game with ODU winning by 3 in high scoring affair
UTEP @ Kansas State: K-St. too tough at home
FIU @ UAB:UAB closer than most think
Western Kentucky @ Navy; Navy is going to be very motivated for this one, we knocked out their QB last season and beat them down at home; Also Navy is coming off a tough loss to Rutgers last week Navy 45 WKU 35
LaTech @ Auburn; Not a good matchup for a CUSA team at Auburn
UTSA @ FAU; UTSA by 7 in a very low scoring game
Rice @ Southern Miss; Toss up but will go with better offense in this one
Charleston Southern @ Charlotte; I have no clue?

My picks in bold. Added some Vegas spreads for more data.

Middle Tennessee @ Old Dominion (Vegas opened favoring MTSU, but some lines have moved to ODU)
UTEP @ Kansas State
FIU @ UAB (Vegas favors UAB by 11.5)
Western Kentucky @ Navy (Vegas favors Navy by 7)
LaTech @ Auburn
UTSA @ FAU (Vegas favors UTSA by 4.5)
Rice @ Southern Miss (Vegas favors Rice by 10)
Charleston Southern @ Charlotte - I don't follow most FCS teams, so I'm just going to go with Charlotte in every game.
