BigTen Power Rankings - week 4
Well, that was a fun week for a change. BigTen went 12-1, including 4-1 against P5 conferences and 3-0 against the ACC. I would call that a good week.

1. MSU
For a team normally known for its defense, the offense has been looking really good this year.

2. Neb
Decided it was time to give Neb its due. undefeated and looked good enough against Miami to move up to #2. NEB's offense can score no doubt, but is defense can struggle at times.

3. PSU
PSU just keeps winning. I was totally wrong about this team in pre-season. I thought they would struggle, but they are a good team and their QB and FG kicker are clutch.

4. OSU
OSU had a bye week but OSU's only loss, to Virginia Tech, is looking worse now that VT has lost twice.

5. Wisc
Looked really impressive blowing out BGSU, a team that beat the team that beat Missouri. But wisc's only loss, to LSU, looks worse now that LSU has lost badly.

6. MD
impressive win against Syracuse, but Syracuse is not that good. Still, MD's only loss is by 3 to WV.

7. Iowa
really impressive comeback victory @Pitt against a previously 3-0 very good Pitt team. Still Iowa's only loss, to Iowa state at home, will drag down Iowa in the power rankings

8. Rut
7 point upset win against Navy. Only loss is to PSU. Had a big win early at Wash. St. Probably should be higher, but waiting to see how Rutgers handles a whole BigTen season.

9. Minn
Wins against lower level teams and bad loss to TCU.

10. Indy
what to do with Indiana? Had the best victory of the day in upset win over Mizzou, a week after losing to BGSU. Indy is going to have to prove it can do that 2 weeks in a row to move any higher.

11. ILL
well, they won, at least

12. Mich
Mich has some big problems on offense. 2 losses against P5 opponents and not 1 offensive TD.

13. Pur
At least Purdue has beat an FBS team

14. NW
at least they have beat an FCS team.

Interesting that you rank Rutgers so low and Mich and NW so high.

But I guess I already had Mich and NW pretty low in my pre-season rankings, so it was not hard for me to put Mich at 12 and NW at 14 this week.

I'm somewhat more optimistic on RU than I was earlier in the year, but I also think it's possible that they may not win another game after Tulane. I'm also betting Michigan pulls it together somewhat.

ChrisRU's ranking of Rutgers at 12, might not be right per se, but it is the attitiude years of fandom of this university has beaten into it's fans. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. There comes a point in every game that I feel like the wheels are gonna fall off. When we fall behind early, I give up on the comeback, even tho they sometimes happen.

I have to stick with MSU still at the top. What I saw from Wisconsin impressed me, I still think they are the power of the West despite their loss to LSU. Nebraska may have the perfect record but I don't see them being as good as Wisconsin. It will be a fun game to watch though. What we saw from Ohio State in their last game was much better. If they continue to show that much improvement then they are definitely deserving of being right up there with Wisky and MSU. I see Nebraska and PSU being just below them but still good for the schedule strength.

Below PSU though and it is all just a guessing game at this point. Need to see more.

I would have OSU 2-3 range, not as low as 4 behind Nebraska. MSU is the best of the bunch.
