There is a lot of football between now and our final home game against LTU, but I think it would be awesome to get a shot at both division leaders at home. Of course UTSA will probably have something to say about the west.

And if we watched UNCheat at game 3 last year, we would have thought they were NC Central.

A season, and its injuries and momentum, changes everything.

They sure do look good now. I had them down as a possible win since we play them at home. I still think we beat HU, EMU and FIU and a fourth somewhere along the way. Just dont have an idea who #4 will be now. La Tech and UAB have been surprises this season. CUSA is pretty good this year.

I wouldn't count out Rice in the West just yet either. We will be their first conference test next week. They have Texas A&M this week, and that is likely to have a similar result as their Notre Dame game, so I expect them to give us something less than a warm welcome when we go to Houston.

After last night, I think we can count out UNT in the West unless they find a quarterback real fast. Otherwise, everyone is going to load up the box and dare them to throw. So the West is beginning to look like a three-way race among UTSA, LA Tech, and Rice, with UTEP also looking stronger than I anticipated preseason. As the old saying goes -- that's why they play the games.

That's true. ODU played EZU very well and EZU spanked UNCCHeat, so you never know.
Word was Skip Holtz was hot seat at LT after last year.

Understatement. CUSA is the best non-cartel conference this year. We should adjust our expectations accordingly.

Good to see LT back in the saddle. They will be a late-season test for sure.

Look at GaSo. Granted that the Eagles are realistically just a little better than we are, but they have walked in and seem to already be the best team in the SBC.

That alone gives me some optimism that we can at least be competitive, albeit in a stronger conference.
