RE: G5 Non Conference Results 2014 (Week 4)
My takeaways:

1). Collecting a payday vs. top 25 is nice, but the combined record (all conferences/indenpendents) is 1 W 29 L.

2). SBC is pretty weak. They were once an ascending conference.

3). MAC only .25 vs. G5. That number needs to get closer to .5 These are our 'peers'.

4). C-USA is kicking butt versus G5 schools.

I hope these data exclude conference games. :)

The CUSA played two middle pack g5 schools and lost both this week... so I think their G5 numbers are inflated by playing a bunch of bottom teams

MAC is having a very bad year......a couple of nice wins, but way too many complete blow out losses.

So you want to focus on FAU losing by one to 3-1 Wyoming (at Wyoming, which is not an easy place to play due to the near absence of oxygen, especially compared to the sea level south Florida) and Middle Tennessee losing to Memphis? How about focusing on the 13 teams that CUSA has beaten:

Ohio
Miami
Akron
Bowling Green
Eastern Michigan
Houston
SMU
Troy
Louisiana Lafayette
New Mexico
New Mexico State
Appy State
Tulsa

You will notice that CUSA is 5-0 against the MAC, all 5 by at least 14 points.

The MAC is down no question about it. Lack of veteran QB's and right now thats keeping Defenses on the field and yeilding a lot of points to opposing teams. Id still take my team over anyone in CUSA. Im biased yes i know.

How did NIU's loss to Arkansas affect their chances of receiving the automatic qualifying bid in this week's CFP Mid-Major Power Rankings? Here are my thoughts... http://sportsunbiased.com/ncaa/college-f...-rankings/

I think we know the answer to that without reading the article. I'm just hoping to win the MAC West at this point.

The Sun Belt Right now is essentially Arkansas State, Georgia Southern, UL-Monroe and Meh.

Those three teams represent half of the league's OOC Victories, and all the league's victories over FBS Schools. (AState over Utah State, ULM over Wake)

I don't think the league is necessarily going backwards as much as it got hurt by Troy, Lafayette, and South Alabama (Three of the preseason Top four) falling apart early in the season.
