Oh, oh -- are YOU a doctor? 03-wink

(see posts above)

Well, I do have medical training...

So yes. I'm the official Bronco Stampede doctor.

Typical Broncos, on the road in a big game. Choke.

Are you even a fan? They were a 21 point underdog for a reason. If they were favored and lost, then I would agree, it would be a choke.

Yeah, obviously i am fan, class of 2013 and season ticket holder sir. When have we ever started off strong, and when have we won a big game? what, 20 years ago???!! honestly, when all the chips were on the table. Choke vs Marshall, Texas bowl, Nunez drops a pass, changes the game. we choke. International bowl, same story. it goes on and on.

I was at that. I wouldn't call it a choke, though. I would call it us not being as good (with Ryan Cubit behind center).

We did choke early on, which was a bit surprising. VaTech is THE football team in the nation to intimidate -- they ride off that (hence special teams successes).

I was surprised that we were like deer in the headlights early on. We choked early.

Combine that when we should have gotten a TD (and missed what should be a solid FG) -- that's 8 + 7 = 15. Wow, 3 point game! How odd, right? :)

But to lay it all out though -- my main disappointment was our 3rd down give-ups. No, not 3rd & 2. But 3rd & 6/7/8/9s. A bit over average? OK, that's fine. But it was in the opposite direction of what one would expect. SIGH. Combine that with our "Huh, where we at?" mentality -- that's my frustration despite beating the spread (which I did not expect).

It's not whether you win or lose (the spread) -- it's how you play the game. Just because VaTech was sloppy and played sub-par for many stretches, doesn't mean it makes any of our sub-par execution "more acceptable".

BUT, in the end -- I see we are rising up some. RTB.

I get that. I have suffered through these things as well, but I think the difference is that in those games, WMU was at least on par with those teams talent wise. I guess I just don't consider it a choke when you go into an environment like Virginia Tech, who was talented enough to beat Ohio State. We aren't on that level yet. I just see Virginia Tech as being better, not a choke job by WMU.

Hang in there. We need all the Bronco fans we can get, as frustrating as it is to be one.

No choke job. An injury had a ripple effect in the starting lineups and special teams. We were already double digit underdogs but weathered a horrible storm at the beginning of the game. We were 15 yards away from a potential game tying score in the 3rd quarter against Virginia Tech!!!! Imagine saying that in the Darnell era! I could not have been more proud of the team that day; they made the trip well worth it.

^ agreed, but it is kind of a choke when you Senior CB who is our best cover corner fumbles the opening kickoff. A Senior should not make those type of mistakes. However, Celiscar should not be returning kicks anyway after that brutal concession. We need him on Defense. No injuries!

Like someone said, it seems like Braverman would have been a great 2nd option if Phillips was unable.
