Attendance Figures
Anyone have them? Should have been really good this week. UCF over 40K, Memphis over 46K, ECU was a sellout.

Edit - Numbers coming in, so I'll update them here:

ECU - 51,082
Memphis - 46,378
UCF - 44,510
Cinci - 41,926
SMU - 34,820
USF - 28,723
Houston - 23,408
Temple - 19,202

Those are some damned good numbers at the top.

RE: Attendance Figures
I believe Memphis' announced number was 46,378.

SMU, Cinci, Temple, and Houston also had home games this week. SMU's stadium looked packed in the few shots I saw of it.

Really good, for an off campus game. Are they opening up the upper deck of PBS for Bearcat games or just the lower bowl?

Houston's marketing and sales team must be non-existent... how do you open a brand new stadium and follow up a successful building year and NOT have most of the people attached to season tickets. 23k in a 40k stadium is pathetic for a program that has higher conference aspirations.

RE: Attendance Figures
If by some miracle and the grace of God Cincinnati beats Ohio State, I wonder if they'd consider opening the up the upper deck! I remember a game where we drew around 58,000 for Oklahoma...and that was awesome!!!! Cincinnati is a bandwagon town, so if UC were to beat OSU (I know again, long shot miracle)...it would become a hot ticket...if we could draw 45k+ it would go a long way to P5 consideration!!!!!!!

We are good at blowing opportunities. There isn't much a marketing department can do about it. We had a chance to win Houston....and look what our coaching staff churned out on the most momentous night of the program.

I for one hope ECU makes the G5 bowl. Probably give us $$$ to buy out our dead beat coach.

The failure of attendance is on the marketing and sales team... if they had secured people into Season Tickets... they'd be coming whether the staff prepared a stinker or not... season tickets give you more than one game to impress the ticketholders! It's how you END with them, not how you start.

I get what you're saying, but we sh*t the bad horribly on Opening Night. No other way of putting it, really. We were horrible, and UTSA was better prepared. It's like what I said about our loss against Texas State two years ago. It's like we expected to win the game by just showing up, and before we were finally brought back down to reality, it was too late. The momentum had gotten away from us. The only difference is it was our biggest night on campus ever! Opening a brand new stadium on national television, and we fell flat on our face. It wasn't pretty at all.

And yes, my girlfriend and I are season ticket holders this year.
